Mutant for Hire
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" Does Beast count as a brick? I actually like bricks with high IQs that go against the 'big, strong, not too bright' stereotype.

I actually like bricks with high IQs that go against the 'big, strong, not too bright' stereotype. I think Beast is the very archetype of the "Agile Brick" to many. So if you say he's a brick, good enough for me

I think of the agile bricks as being weaker than the "true" bricks physically, but often deadlier/more skilled fighters.
Bloodstone
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" The Hulk She-Hulk The Thing Juggernaut Bruiser/Power Princess Colossus I've also enjoyed various incarnations of Giant-Man/Goliath back in the day, but Growth based bricks lack that combiation of strength and toughness that springs to mind when somone says "brick". Guest Suleyman Rashid
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" In my opinion, nothing tops the "coolness" factor of Colossus, especially when he's being drawn in such a way that lets us all know that when he's chromed he's shiny and reflective. I can't remember where it was from, but the best pic of Colossus ever is just a shot of him rearing back to punch someone, and we can see the target of the punch visibly reacting because he's reflected in Colossus's metal skin. Can't beat that kind of cool with a sledgehammer. But as far as balls-out brickness is concerned, nobody can touch the Juggernaut. He of the "Hey wing-head... did you lose your hammer?" coolness when Mjolnir just bounces off him without even slowing him down.
BoneDaddy
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" Hulk is the strongest of Marvel's bricks, and the brickiest Brick what ever bricked. Thing is certainly the most likable character in the MU (Spiderman excepted) and he actually is a brick - or a pile of them. I've always had a soft spot for Colossus. Lord Mhoram
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" Blasphemer! Heh, just goes to show, I guess. Those are my favorites. I do recant, because I forgot he was a hero - Juggernaut. The only "bulky" brick I like. As for characterization, I do enjoy the Thing, but I have never been able to read the FF, something about it each time I tried drove me away, wether it be art, history or writing. Lord Mhoram
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" Had to add someone else. Ms Marvel / Warbird. She has a new series coming out, and I have always loved the character - and the Warbird costume is just a great design.
FenrisUlf
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" And get completely wasted before starting the fight... So Aunt Petunia's favorite sloshed nephew goes home a winner with a sexy bar maid who's into rock climbing. to you! I laughed so hard, they almost threw me out of the library! Say, would you mind if if I copied this (credited to you of course!) and showed it to some other comics fans I know?
Blue
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" The Thing may literally be a brick, but the Hulk is the definitive marvel comics brick. 1. Hulk (Iconic; Original in his nearly infinite capacity for strength) 2. Thing (HAS to be where the term "Brick" came from, I'd think.) 3. Thor (Intelligent, Strong, Heroic, and old-fashioned, yet completely unlike Superman. How's that possible?) 4. Iron Man (Upon further review, I've decided Tony Stark's archetypal power-suit guy not only fits this category but excels) 5. Collosus (Cool power, great look) 6. Beast (A supersmart brick with a sense of humor; Of course you have to be humerous with all that fur) 7. Hyperion (Yes, he's a superman knockoff; But that only gets him qualified for the list; The rest is how they play him out.) 8. She-Hulk (If she hadn't been created with that name, she might have gotten a lot more respect from fans) 9. Rhino (I love a villain that's all move-throughs!) 10. Hercules Honorable Mentions: Ant Man (Probably because he could be a putz); Abomination (He never really seemed like a threat to the Hulk); Juggernaut (I'm not an expert in Juggy history... well, not this juggy anyway)

At present, stats wise, she's actully signifigantly stronger then Hercules... as in she throws arm wrestling matches to the big lug so that he doesn't feel bad. And that's when she's perfectly calm. Enforcer84
Re: Marvel's Best "Bricks" Is that still in effect? The only time he's been remotely threatening is when he came after Atlas after the Thunderbolts (Vol 1) were unmasked. He basically smashed the entire team (though they were a bit banged up) and left when Hawkeye called him out. But he tolk Hawk that their friendship was over. And he held his own pretty good with the Abomination in his miniseries. Man, that would have been a cool miniseries if they'd had someone besides Texiera draw it. Hope they're willing to forgive typos and other errors on my part Here's a link someone gave me in response to it: http://djsunkid.livejournal.com/31971.html This quote should entertain a lot of folks here: "Bridge: (chanted) Angels sang out, in immaculate chorus down from the heavens, descended Chuck Norris who delivered a kick which could shatter bones into the crotch of Indiana Jones who fell over on the ground writhing in pain as Batman turned back into Bruce Wayne but Chuck saw through his clever disguise and he crushed Batman's head in between his thighs."
