Re: What Have You Watched Recently?

I saw Falling Skies as well. It was OK. Nothing new to be seen so far. It's just Independence Day and Terminator Salvation rolled into one' date=' but it has a solid narrative structure and a lot of good subplots to play with. It seems like they spent some money, and it looks like a first class production, especially for a TV show. It might run for a season or two and not suck. It would make a decent game setting, maybe we'll see a PAH homage down the road.[/quote']

PAH? You mean polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons? Why would they need an homage?

Watched Mythbusters, American Rifleman and some program about Cowboy Action Shooting.

The entire 1st Season Run for A Game of Thrones. (Awesome), and the Entire Third Season for Trueblood (Bah, Necroporn, BUT, Liked the Werewolves). DVD Series Tales of the Gun from The History Channel (Also Awesome).

Watched Cars 2 with the boy. We liked it. Mater had a larger part than most of the other guys from Radiator Springs other than Lightning. The movie came off as the man in one red shoe mixed with James Bond and Speed Racer.

I hear that was the intent behind the film.

It succeeded. Michael Caine was smooth as Fin McMissile. Larry The Cable Guy carried the movie pretty well, much better than his own movies. I miss Doc Hudson, but it was nice they named the piston cup after the character.

Re: What Have You Watched Recently?

I saw Green Lantern: Emerald Knights on DVD. Why is is it that this little direct-to-DVD animated feature is so much better than the Green Lantern movie? It had much better writing and acting than the live action film. The animation was very well done. Overall, it was quite enjoyable, and the story within a story structure they used was perfect. I don't know if it's considered to be in continuity or not, but they also show the origin of Kilowog, which was actually very well done. If you aren't embarrassed to be an adult watching animation, check it out.
