Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Hey its great to be wanted!

OK so who is your hunted and is your GM especially evil about this?

Oh and please Rep every GM who has evil fun with a players Hunteds.

Black Falcon has the IHA and Demon both after her. Her darkness powers are magic based, but her ability to channel them (and survive the dark energies) are mutant.

Further both organization know of this...

My old GM never really used Hunteds except for Viper (free points). And they were played like the Spanish inquisition. The door would be kicked in and a Viper Squad would attack. "Nobody messes with VIPER!" It was one guy's fault, he went for the points and it was like a constant hunted.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

I've just started running a Pulp game. One of the PCs back story is that he escaped from the Bermuda Triangle with a functioning rocket pack. He's being hunted by the rocket packs creators: the Robo-Men from Mars!

So far have only played one session. Here's hoping it's not one of those still-born campaigns.

cheers.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

While I don't play as much these days (I mainly run), I did have a character back in the 4th ed days that was hunted by EVERYONE ;) He was a Batman sort with darkness powers ... IIRC, his Hunteds were:

Hunted: Primus 14≤ [He was a vigilante and, in the campaign, vigilantes (especially powered ones) were brought to justice by Primus]

Hunted: Viper 14≤ [He'd foiled a major nest plot before he joined the team (aka Backstory) and had become an illustrious member of Viper's Top 10 Most Hated]

Hunted: Demon 14≤ [During one of the early adventures, he'd brought to light some Demon nonsense that was going on in the government, so they REALLY didn't like him]

Hunted: UNTIL 14≤ [One of the ways that Viper had struck back at him was ruining his rep and making him look like a villain ... so he was wanted by UNTIL]

Hunted: Genocide 11≤ [He was a mutant ... on the plus side, he had a jammer that could goof up their detects]

Hunted: Doc Destroyer 11≤ [This one he stumbled into via another PC ... I didn't know that saving someone from Doc D's clutches and taking down a major installation would cause him to hunt me ...]

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

I'm always hunted by Viper, most GM's use them anyway, might as well take it. Then I'll take a hunted from the established villains of around the same point level and similar powers, Pulsar for Energy Projectors, Ogre for bricks, Cheshire Cat for martial artists etc.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Spatha

- Hunted by his Uncle the "Affrighter" who kidnapped him as a youth and tried to sway him to his cause. And then again as an adult.

- Hunted by the Black Guard (Bloodletters) who Hunt all The Blood fugitives on Earth. The Secret Police of the Council of the Nine of Ean.

Cougar

- Hunted by the Green Dragon in both Identities for dating his sister and not respecting his Kung Fu ;)

- Hunted by the IHA's Project Genocide Minute Man Robots. He's a mutie aint he.

Riot

- Hunted by VIPER for wiping out their operations in Vancouver and abroad. Not to mention defeating the Dragon Branch on multiple occasions. Especially the Ripper :) and the Ice Girls incident... don't ask.

- Hunted by the IHA's Project Genocide Minute Man Robots. He's a mutie aint he.

LOL

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

I created Hardcase with the backstory that he was a former UNTIL agent captured by Mechanon who turned him into a cybernetic infiltration unit. Eventually, UNTIL was able to reclaim Hardcase and break Mechanon's control over him.

So I was hunted by Mechanon - and my GM never ran with it :(

I have this Idea for a character wielding a comiscally powerfull, anti-technology sword. At full power it could precisely kill an entire robot army in a city without scratching anything else.

He's way away from that, but still mechanon is hunting him since he has "Clean Weapon of Mass Destruction" vs. Robots. Mechanon wants to kill everybody, but he want's to kill you above all!

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Landslide:

While she isn't finished yet and isn't planned to start with hunted per se, she has a special form a DNCP:

A Gang, that want's beat her up to "even the score". Unfortunately she's a brick and they are street punks so they can't even get her to flinch with a hit in the face (not even if they use a Bar Stool).

And they are oblivious to danger. They would even try to attack her when she has just aggroed meachanon to get him away from [place with many civilians] and he's just running/flying right behind her. So she always has to rescue them.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

St George - hunted by Black Paladin. Told the GM I needed a hunted of his choice. The BP would turn up at at his house in the middle of the night, let himself in, and then want to have a 2 hour philosophical discuss in the living while the DNPC were sleeping in the bedrooms. Could never attack him, and had to go through with the crazy visits or else he'd attack. If I'd go along with it, he'd leave peacefully. Never was able to capture him in combat that I remember. As a combat oriented player, it drove me nuts to not be able to do anything. As a budding evil GM, I applauded the GM's inventiveness.

Orion - hunted by Genocide, but also hunts them. Started off as a simple energy projector ala Captain Atom, but saw combat like a soldier would, and shot to kill. Through years of playing, he became the vigilante that all others were judged against. Mostly hunted down and killed Genocide members, because they caused the accident that created his powers, then ruined his reputation, and eventually kidnapped and killed his family when he went after them. He would not hesitate to administer the death penalty, and became so much of a loner/killer/legend that he could no longer be used with any normal group and was retired from play. Now as an NPC in my campaign, he is turning from a killing machine into an introspective agent of justice that seldoms uses his powers, and is mentoring a young mutant. Genocide no longer hunts him out of self-preservation.

Silhouette - hunted by the Ultimates. They do something, and she's the one that shows up and defeats them. Every time. But they are too stupid to try anything but coming back for revenge. Played more like a bunch of lame Spider-Man villains than serious opponents.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Since I'm pretty much my GM, I'm not as evil as I should be. I focus more on my player's hunteds than on my NPCs.

Anthem has several rivalries with disreputable vigilantes but currently no hunteds. That's fine since I had way to many disad points, which is rare.

Uncle Slam is watched by plenty of folks, but his only true Hunteds are the biggies (Viper, Mechanon). All a result of previous interaction. And as the former head of PRIMUS he's a wealth of intelligence they could pry from his head, were they able.

Audra Blue has made enemies of several corprations, an online gang, and the Nazi criminal who implanted her cybernetics--who needs to study her to figure out why she survived when the others didn't.

I get more creative with my players' hunteds; mine are rudimentary.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Enforcer's hunteds ran a gamut over the years. When he began, they were "Mind and Body" a mentalist and brick duo that was inspired by professor X and the Juggernaut - Brothers. It was highschool and they generally showed up to kick his ass.

Then we moved to 4th edition and rebooted our world. My main hunted became Malachite, a Telios precursor with a Nazi background. Malachite was Champions Earth version of the patron of his creator's clan (a scientocracy world run by Albert Zerstoiten). Malachite found this out and tried to appropriate Enforcer as his family's property.

5th Ed rewrite...became Telios, not out of a sense of ownership but curiosity. He'd try to test Enforcer's limits and sentience.

Then I rebooted my old campaign world into it's own universe and his Hunteds reflected that. Dr. Artifice who passed away in the 90's, then his successor but she was more Watching, rather than hunting. His main hunteds became Lords of the Wasteland an Americanized version of Eurostar - Iron Age guys in a more Bronze Age world. Usually showed up to kill him. And a fellow Hero who slowly slipped to villainy...was originally a romantic rival (rather one sided actually) used to go by "Paragon" now prefers the monicker "Apex"

I had a GM that used to love duo teams like this. He had Assault and Battery. Assualt had a bunch of EB's run off and END Battery fed by Battery's Transfers. Cloak and Dagger (Cloak would distract while Dagger stabbed). There were a bunch of others that are escaping me at this time. fun times.

Just out of curiosity what was Enforcer's powers?

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Well I gave one of my players Hunted Viper. As she has just found out she was an early experiment of "one of their scientists" and turned her into a multiform dragon and her brother into lizard boy (her parents were Geneticists based at Oxford University who specialised in Reptile DNA and wanted to use if for rapid healing in hospitals. But they got in his way so he killed them and stole their work to advance his and tried some of his early work on her and her brother but they caught him and they escaped). They are currently doing Sharper than a Serpents tooth so this may change to Hunted Viper / "something else" for everyone (if they escape)!!

(Edit: I put too much info in my first post!)

He's a Flying Brick/Boy Toy.

Started out as a Wonderman Homage - had a jet belt and a few other gadgets including an Adrenal Override that for 6 uses bumped his Strength from 60 to 100.

When we went to 4th Ed, he became an artificial humanoid created as a Bodyguard/sex toy for the current leader of House Helix - She was pretty insane and eventually she got tired of the pretty boy and sold him to another science house...Theoretical Physicists who had opened a dimensional gate. He ended up on the Champions Earth there. Technically he's artificial, but created in a way to mimic life.

The second version had all his powers internalized.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

Edward L. Walker III and his goons hunt all PCs in my setting. Edward's dad was the admin of a super soldier experiment that got shelved (at the dad's insistence) because it was deemed unethical. Edwards stole the research and completed it with his own scientists, testing it on unsuspecting people. Nothing happened on the surface. The PCs are the children of those experimental subjects, and Edward wants to see the results.

Re: Who's Hunting You? And Why?

We are starting a new Champions campaign on May 7th. The New Titan's campaign is set in the DC Universe with some changes to fit our situation better. My character is Wildfire, the younger brother of Starfire.

Hunted by Blackfire because I renounced her rule and fled to Earth to find my sister who is sadly missing since none of Earth's heroes ever returned from some Crisis they had to deal with. Wildfire is going to stay on earth since he figures if/when Starfire returns she will come back to Earth.

Hunted by Killer Frost because upon my arrival I interfered with her efforts to kill an unidentified man in a limo. I got the drop on her and she was forced to flee after lots of police began to arrive at the scene.
