Old Man
By far the most abusive rival to the US soccer team is the US soccer team.
Cancer
Hm, the honchos in the national federation have historically been much more hostile. Might still be true, but there's been turnover recently.

death tribble
Sweden are through and L Marcus can breathe. Unfortunately England are doomed. The match is on ITV so expect a loss. The papers over here have mentioned this a bit.

L. Marcus
... I are sweaty. Damn, whatta game! It was even at times, but I'd still say our lads won deservedly.
L. Marcus
And a hearty break-a-leg to the English side, purely in the theatrical sense.
death tribble
England lead 1-0 until Colombia equalise in extra time. No score in extra time so penalties. Oh joy. England win 4-3. Hmm. Well it was not Germany they were playing so....... Or Portugal.

Pariah
I read an article today stating that Neymar has spent 14 minutes on the ground so far during this World Cup. Get up and play the redacted game, floppopotamus.
Cancer
I admit I remember Brazil as dirty players for something like the opposite reason. In 1994 in the Round of 16 game at Stanford Stadium, Brazil's Leonardo put an elbow into the US's Tab Ramos's head, broke his skull, and Ramos was more than six weeks in the hospital after that. I haven't seen that gem mentioned even once in any World Cup discussion at all, or any of the "worst of" video assemblies. I suppose it's because no one of any importance, i.e. no European, was injured. At least the referee did give a red card, and Leonardo was suspended for the balance of the tournament. Anyway, I half expect Belgium's playmaker to be dealt with in kind of the same way by a Brazilian thug tomorrow. Hope I'm wrong.
Starlord
However, while he IS the king of flopping, he is also, by far, the most fouled player so far in the World Cup. You have to be unfairly physical with him to slow him down.
Cancer
I admit I'd like to see yellow cards handed out for simulation, which is what is supposed to happen.
death tribble
France are 1-0 at half time. Belgium are trying to beat the five times World Champions. Good luck with that.

Michael Hopcroft
Ronaldinho did absolutely nothing wrong on the own-goal conceded to Belgium just now. He couldn't have maneuver the ball from where he was as it came off his shoulder for a crazy deflection. It was just a case of extraordinary bad luck, of the sort that seems to follow Brazil around at this stage in World Cups lately. And for him, it's a dang shame. Spence
Was working through both games today. France didn't surprise me. Belgium's victory just woudln't register until I watched the recording. Unexpected, but not necessarily a bad thing and just possibly this and the earlier upsets will be a wake up call to the "anointed elite" that they may be resting too much on their laurels just as the rest are beginning to catch up.
