Ok, Russia was playing for PKs, but Spain almost stubbornly seemed to be also. They absolutely refused to change their offensive style in an attempt to break the Russian 9 men in a box style. They just kept passing it around the outside. Their interior guys never tried to move around and force Russian defenders to possibly create holes.
