Re: What types of Skill Levels do YOU allow with Dive For Cover?
Sorry to single you out here since you are certainly not the first one guilty of this but...99% of the shit posted on this board does not warrant all this soul searching and angst. People are just looking for other opinions.
Area Attacks = the new Magic Missile
Is DFC over-used in your campaigns? I am just curious about your experiences.
I never really gave it much thought because area attacks have been, for whatever reason, rather rare in my campaigns.
Re: Help: Spirit Bottle
Just something I did to simulate contacts was Detect Applicable Information, Extra Time, Incantations, RSR (Conversation, Persuasion or Seduction) and in this case it sounds like you could add Side Effects.
The Ultimate Skill is the new FrED
If DOJ does not publish The Ultimate Skill soon I will send a squad of black death ninja robots to Steve's house and have him torn limb from limb.
Re: Higher-point-level Fantasy
Careful. A subject like this could get you flamed. A lot of GMs seem to think you should take power away from the PCs, not give it to them.
This may be of some help.
All of my campaigns have been 'high level'. What I do is focus more on interaction with NPCs and less on combat. When comat does come up, I let the PCs shine and mop up the opposition easily. Except for the big bosses which I give comprable power to.
Yeah, but you can throw it
Alarm Clock: Multipower, 5-point reserve, all slots OAF (-1)
1u 1) Energy Blast 1d6 1 Charge, Never Recovers (-4)
1u 2) Detect Time; Passive
1u 3) Hearing Group Images, Time Delay (+1/4), Single Annoying Sound (-1)
apologizing is the new ice cream
Dude! This is the internet. You never admit you were wrong and you never apologize. What do you think this is? Polite society?
Steal the Scene
I implemented a 'Steal the Scene' concept for a critical roll. If a player rolled a 3 I would allow them to describe, within reason, whatever it is that they wanted to happen. Obviously 'within reason' is open to a lot of interpretation and this requires mature players. It also requires the GM being willing to roll with the punches. This is fun for narratists and is the bane of gamists.
Political threads are the new D20
Hey, I already gave my critique. I guess people would rather argue politics endlessly than actually help a fellow board member out.
Don't worry, alywin13. I will take the heat. My rep can handle it.
