  2. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Zombie Prostitute -Voltaire Dude's brilliant Lyrics: I was alone, and I needed a date; I was takin' a walk past the cemetery gate When I, I saw a sign that said "For a good time "Take a left down at Tombstone Number 8". Went to the gateway, and I'm pretty sure I Saw some eyes peepin' out of a "sepulture", I Took a step into the Tomb of Ill Repute That's where I met her, the Zombie Prostitute I grabbed her left breast, and I'm pretty sure I tore it I said "go down", but she didn't have the stomach for it Buck teeth fell out, and her tongue fell out to boot, But all in all, she was a rotten kind'a cute. While I was tense, it was plain to see A sort of rigor mortis was comin' over me I didn't want to see it, but I just had to believe it I had a stiffy for the stiff in front'a me. Morally, I'm destitute In the Tomb of Ill repute She's a rotten kind'a cute For a Zombie Prostitute. (violin, cello, and trumpet/cornet solos) Now I'm fallin' apart from my head down to my toes, I don't know Which of my organs is the next to go I've been such a sleaze since she gave me the disease Wouldn't you know, now I'm a Zombie Gigolo I took my first client on a date We took a walk to the cemetery gate I got under her slip, but then, I heard a rip I pulled it out, and I said..."baby, keep the tip" Morally, I'm destitute In the Tomb of Ill repute She's a rotten kind'a cute For a Zombie Prostitute.
  3. Re: 70's Fashion Horrors Speaking of ugly 70's pants... I suspect I was single-handedly responsible for the demise of the Sears Tuffskins line.... Lifetime guarantee my shiny metal butt... I'd wear through them in like 3 months, easy.
  4. Re: Musings on Random Musings Got the frequent flyer plan?
  5. Re: Favorite 60-point Power Construction Nice! Would also be good for Agent Smecker from Boondock Saints
  6. Re: A Thread for Random Videos meh... They need more practice. They totally lost it on "Loose Yourself"... you couldn't understand a word they sang after the chorus joined in. good idea, but the execution was lacking. The Slovakian Judge is panning it
  7. Re: Musings on Random Musings *raises hand* I wear some kind of kilt like garment whenever I'm lounging at home, and most of the time when I go camping, hiking, or clubbing. I really don't like shorts or formal wear, so they fill those roles in my wardrobe
  8. Re: Yet Another HPA -- Into The Unknown: Expeditioneering Rules I remember designing a con game WAYYYYYY back in the day for CoC that was based around a Yukon Expedition for a lost valley of gold. Yeah, I've always dug the expedition-style game. Lost Worlds is probably my favorite Pulp subgenre

  10. Re: Which is your least favorite archetype to play? Had to think a bit to come up with an honest answer, as I generally enjoy playing most any archetype. Well... lets be honest... most of my characters are similar on a meta-concept level... I tend to play The Tragic Hero. There will always be another archetype/powerset below that, but that's the foundation. Of the standard list, Speedster is prolly my least favorite archetype to play, because I can't ever seem to get my head out of "This has all been done before" headspace. I've played lots of weaponmasters, gunguys, martial artists and the like, and am totally resisting the urge to wade in on the tangent, But I agree with Nexus here... we need to start a new thread for the topic. I'm coming up blank on good titles....
  11. Re: Cool Guns for your Games The half before you get hit by a half-pound lead ball, or the half afterward?
  12. Re: Bestiar(ies) questions I'm of exactly the opposite view. It's not like the Rhino looks at a target and evaluates if it looks Resistant. As far as I'm concerned, any animal that buys a bunch of attack powers at full cost should go to town with MPA's, especially when it makes sense both dramatically and realisticly. I'd totally do a Rhino Charge as an MPA, because that's what rhinos do. They gore you then trample your body.
  13. Re: How i can make The Ravager cows away Although it's a very non-canon use and HD probably wouldn't allow it, I was thinking that adding the "Does Body" advantage would probably be about right, price-wise, for the added utility.
  14. Re: Conan vs. Elric Well said. You've saved me from the tedious task of typing out my response
  15. Re: Super Psychos It's stuff like that idea that has me thinking about superprisons... in reality I suspect you'd be onto something... supervillains are expendable strategic assets. Could always throw in the classic cortex bomb for insurance that junior doesn't come back after his handlers.
  16. Re: Super Psychos To take up a good idea and run with it a bit... I love the Silver Avenger idea. Howzabout instead of "absolutely sane", his state is "Insane because of the shot the nice PRIMUS doctor gives him during his weekly 'evaluation'." I'm thinking something like a short-lived custom virus they're developing to interact with the Cyberline alterations, as a contingency plan against other cyberline enhanced soldiers going off the reservation. So if he doesn't get his weekly shot, get becomes sane again... and regains his powers. If he meets any other cyberline altered people, he just might be contagious....
  17. Re: A question concerning Analyze I could also see this combination as a valid build for a Sherlock Holmes or Gil Grissom trained observer.
  18. Re: Horror Hero: Handling SANity I generally agree, which is why I actually favor the slow Cumulative Transform model. I actually use a "1 body Cumulative Transform Change Environment, Megascale, Requires PER roll from every target" build to simulate the real sanity blasting types of critters, but the system shocks can add to the same model. The new Disads granted don't have to destroy character concept... These are the Heroes of the story after all. But "Jaded" "World weary" And "Dependence: Addiction" are all perfectly disadvantageous without totally ruining the whole action hero vibe. Look at John Constantine, for example.
  19. Re: Super Psychos I had one I used a couple of times back in the day... Cancerous (real name unknown) is a 35 year old homeless disassociative paranoid schizophrenic. On his meds, he's generally quite mild mannered, if almost completely out of it. However, if he's injured, his mutant powers activate and he sort of explodes out of his own skin like The Thing, defending itself first then rampaging around completely berserk consuming and absorbing any available biomass to fuel his transformation. I had a pretty fancy write up, but he could be done pretty easy with a Multiform to an Amorphous Horror from The Bestiary and an Accidental Change.
  20. Re: Starship Combat Experience? It's been a LOOOONG time, but I used to do a fair bit of various vehicle combats in my pre-Star Hero Star Hero campaign, and we integrated the original Star Hero system in when it finally came out. All the campaign weapons scaled up on a pretty consistent scale from hand weapon to the heaviest ships weapons, so there were a LOT of active points getting lobbed around. We had a pretty intricate system worked out, but it was fun I'll try and put my thoughts on how 5th can be better used to get what you want. It can be done, but it takes a fair bit of frontloaded work to get things tweaked to your taste. The Traveler HERO guys here on the board did a pretty bang up job of just that from what I've seen, by the way. There are worse folk you could ask
