    O.m.a.c.

Re: O.m.a.c. DC has been writing Batman as being paranoid since the late 80s early 90s (if not before). In JLA (Tower of Babel I belive), they had it were Ras Al Gul stole Batman's plans to take down the JLA (Just in case). This has carried on and if you look at the Superman run that Jim just finished doing the artwork you'll see mention of a program to create super-soldiers, supposedly the forerunner to OMAC, and Superman even confront Batman about some of it. Checkmate is a group of secret agents in the DC universe. Everything from taking down drug runs to space shuttle sabatage they handle. They had their own series in the early 90s and have taken the back seat in the "normal" DC universe. OMAC was a creation of Jack Kirby. If you want to read a really good story with him & brother eye in it either go check the Kirby series or John Byrne's 4 issue b/w series. Kirby's backstory is completely different then what DC is feeding everyone right now.
  2. Re: Something we should all look into.. I splurged and got a few things last weekend. Playing with the idea of a half-human/demon character for a Buffy:Vampire Slayer game.
  3. Re: Something we should all look into.. renderotica.com is the big one for the adult stuff.
  4. Re: Something we should all look into.. um yes...there are such add on's, and yes there is a site devoted to adult poser'ing
  5. Re: Something we should all look into..
  6. Re: Something we should all look into.. I have the set for the Kids, it works pretty well if you want to use them. I normally prefer the Aeon folks though so haven't used them a lot.
  7. Re: Something we should all look into.. Never heard of Hero Creator by Daz, if you can send me a link to it. I find raiding Animotions to be very useful I was playing around some toys and did this today. Mainly playing with lighting along with seeing how a Slayer would look in a game I'm doing.
  8. Re: Something we should all look into.. Poser and D|S can do wings, yes, though there are very few (if any) freebie ones around.
  9. Re: Something we should all look into.. Well Mike, Aiko, etc were originally made for poser, so pretty compatable. There are a few things that Poser does that D|S doesn't have built it so it helps to read the discreption beforehand
  10. Re: Something we should all look into.. Jujst a few things you might be intrested in. DAZ is also giving away Mike 3 and Vicki 3 away for free now as well as the Aiko figure. Plus if your wiling to spend a few bucks, Dodger @ poserpros.com is selling teens & adolescents based on V3 & M3. Each figure is $10.25. The clothing needs some tweaking but anyting made for V3/M3/David works on 'em. He also has a set of adolescents, wonderful for those Teen Titans/Power Pack characters. attached is a few pics I did in Poser, using the Teen characters, Seth & Anna.
  11. Re: Found an '83 AC scenario... I still have that book
  12. Re: Disposable Heroes Try Thunderbolts (the first series) when the big Marvel heroes "died" during Onslaught and another group of heroes came in (which were actually villians). JLA: Obsidian Age, the main JLA goes back in time to find Aquaman while a "second string" stays behind to keep things safe. It's been collected together as two trade paperbacks, one dealing with the main group, the other with the stringers.
  13. Re: Hero Designer... Wouldn't quite go that far but it is up there
  14. Re: Hero Designer... Plus HD also tells you the pages the item is listed on (including 5eR)
  15. Re: Hero Designer... I think there's already a thread or two on this....
  16. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen my 2cents and a few nitpicks. Magnum PI was the 80s not the 70s According to the movie My Favorite Martian, Ray Walston went back while Loyd's character stayed. So you do have a current version of Uncle Marty to work with. Could always use Leroy & Sho'Nuff from The Last Dragon. Would add some martial arts into the mix (with Sho'Nuff being the main villians flunky) For a vehicle, you need Herbie, no doubt about it. Ok, so he's a car IF you really want to push things you could do Tony and Tia from Escape to/Return From Witch Mountan (the originals, not the remake). Telepathy and Telekinesis, defently adds the 'extrodinary" part. If you want to add someone with some detective skill toss in Jessica Fletcher. Why not, she's in the same universe as Magnum P.I. As for a vilian, I'd go with Bette Davis from Return from Witch Mountain and David Warner's character from the b-horror movie Waxworks. Literary characters I'd have to sit down and think about. The only ones I can really come up with at the moment is Zelazney's Corwin and Merlin from his Amber novels, but since they're literaly "gods" I think they'd overpower the idea of the League. Oh, and an afterthought just to make it reall weird. Dr. Johnny Fever from WKRP. Ok Ok, dumb choice I know. Was also going to suggest Father Timothy from SOAP (laugh), hey why not, his son was possessed by the devil (and Benson bested Death to save a bunch of school kids on a bus) Ok, I'm quiting, my age is starting to show. D**nit I lied...one more. Pete from Pete's Dragon. Why am I in a Disney frame of mind?????
  17. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Amber DRPG: "You drag us through an infinite number of shadows just so you can go to your favorite PUB??" Dale: "Brand was a psycho" Becca: "Brand was my father, remember?" Dale: "My point" [after getting directions that lead them into a trap] Becca: If we get out of this I'm kicking your friend's @$$ Becca: Your a drunk, a liar and a cheat Sage: I love you too
  18. Re: "So, Thor hits Superman with Mjolnir..." From what one writer of the Superman book has said, Superman has the same resitanence to magic as the normal person. IE little to none. Notice the normal person part though. IF your going to include that part into it all then just use the limitation on it all.
  19. Re: "So, Thor hits Superman with Mjolnir..." JLA/Avengers #2 I belive
  20. Re: Sunspot clone - OIHID - Instant Change I'd have to agree on the Endurance Battery.

    Fake TV-Shows

Re: Fake TV-Shows The Joe Schmoo show had "Lap of Luxrey" Have to find it again but Faith & Hope has a fake Soap Opera that Faith was killed off of.
  23. Re: The Gilded Age Campaign I see Batman studying under Sherlock Holmes personally. The Falls be d**ned. Maybe the Joker was an underling of Moriarty (nahh, too obvious). Hm....Horton created the Human Torch, backed by money from the Wayne Foundation. Take some of the characters back to their "roots" ret-conned or not....A young airline stewardess survies a crash and through amnesia becomes Catwoman (could it be Hugh's TWA she worked for?). Mixing periods a little we have the Pengiun, growing up as an obese child he was made fun of, and left out, always on the edge of everything. Always ignored or looked down on he learned a lot of things he shouldn't have, becoming one of the biggest information sellers during the War. Just an aside. If you go back and read the Fantastic Four Reborn (hey, it was Lee, it wasn't totally bad) the FF and others got their powers from radiation and "power cosmic" due to the wormhole that brought the Silver Surfer to Earth. Tieing in Galactus not only to the FF but also to the Inhumans (who's home was built atop a "seed pod" that Galactus & his heralds use to speed up evolution on potential worlds).
  24. Re: The New Legion of Super-Heroes I think someone started a thread on this detailing some characters, I could be wrong. Personally I've enjoyed the book so far too. People complain about it on JLU but I'm enjoying them focusing on alternating characters, getting an idea of what these new people are supposed to be like compared to the ones most of us have grown up with. http://lsh.freeservers.com/upcoming.html
  25. Re: Make the GLA legit! Dina is an energy projector in the same manner Banshee of the X-Men is. And like Alpha Flight, John Byrne wrote them as a one trick pony. IMHO anyone using them for more then a joke is proving how bad of a writer they are because they can't create a team of their own to use in the book.
