That's fine, but my question pertained to wearing a shield. It has absolutely nothing to do with making a multi-attack or autofire HA.

Bottom line: the cosmic MCU is vastly & significantly different* is subtle ways to the MU.

I agree that Mistress Death should have been used, and worked out a rationale how, years ago, but I’ve forgotten it. Not doing it takes something away from the character and ruins the possible introduction of The Abstract Entities like Eternity, or The Living Tribunal (with a nod in Doctor Strange).

Stark was a super egotist who assumed that he'd thought of all the variables and knew best despite his judgment having been proven to be terrible again and again. I wouldn't count on him having identified unforeseen wide-scale consequences of undoing the snap (remember, such only exist because of his insistence that the disintegrated people and animals be brought back 5 years later, rather than undoing it the instant it happened) in the constant slugfest between Bruce using the gauntlet and him doing so. Indeed, his standard operating procedure would have had him refusing to acknowledge that he'd overlooked anything in their previous agreed-upon plan and shouting down any naysayers until presented with overwhelming evidence of it not working exactly as intended.

Yeah they could have done  it but I think the chance for an environmental message was too compelling for them to resist. I'm guessing that's the real reason behind the scenes

Yeah Hel was inexplicably powerful, ridiculously, pointlessly powerful beyond any logic or explanation.  Just use her as death.

As I've said before, Thanos is "The Mad Titan." Not "The Misguided Titan" or "The Debatable Titan." He's lived for so long with the tragedy of his planet and the conviction that he could have saved it had they listened to him, he's incapable of seeing the flaws in his plan. Many real-world people suffer such delusions.

Again, the original comic concept of someone who was in love with death was a much better and more interesting premise, but they were determined to make Thanos feel more sympathetic and "deep" as a character.

If I had the energy and time I would do up a very low magic Fantasy Hero setting (really just a slightly fantastic historical one) for the bronze age like Age of Conquerors or something.  Kind of like Conan, with magic being more suggestion and a better understanding of how things work than blasts and summons.  I think a very ancient world map with places like Sumeria and Akkadia, Mitanni, etc.  You could have a timeline up to around Rome.  To me that would be a blast to play in and run games set in but I have too much on my plate already.

    Exactly correct.

And I'd like to complain once again about Thanos's entire premise: it took the Earth about 45 years to go from 3.5 billion people to 7 billion.

That's hardly any kind of lasting paradise, even if you have the snap taking away only "unnecessary" people rather than the skilled workers who hold the civilization together (people who know how to operate water, sewage, electrical grid, energy production, etc.) and there being no other lasting negative repercussions.

I still think the MCU would have been better off portraying Thanos's goal as worshipping the personification of Death and the snap being a sacrifice to her. Leave it murky as to whether Death is a real "person" who might be persuaded by sacrifice or whether Thanos's obsession with the person of Death was just a mental delusion.

If the audience seems to like the idea of Death as a person, leaves the door open to movies like Dr. Strange introducing other conceptual entities of the Marvel comics universe and having the audience already prepped for the idea of such entities existing.

As for the second snap leaving people who had been in airplanes reappearing in mid-air and warehouses, granaries and fields being empty of food, I don't have a problem assuming that Stark would have obsessed endlessly with every detail about what he would do if he had access to an all-powerful artifact like the Infinity Gauntlet and knew exactly what he would do with it.

Stark is a super-genius futurist. Banner might not have thought things through. But there's no way that Stark wouldn't have corrected any of Banner's oversights as he was using the Gauntlet.

People would reappear on the ground rather than in mid-air or mid-sea. Fallow land would be instantly filled with plants in whatever stage of growth was appropriate for the year. Gas tanks would be full in every car and filling station. Oil storage facilities would be topped off and not leaking. Supertankers would be full and in good repair. Grocery store shelves and warehouses would be full everywhere. Grass in fields would be sufficient for the reappearing animals.

I haven't watched WandaVision at all;  I'm not in the mood to give Disney money.  My choice, of course.

But the gaping plot...not hole, per se, but unanswered question was with that second <snap>.  It's FAR worse than the story suggests.  Here's one point:  after 5 years with only 3.5 billion people, food production will be at a level to support.......3.5 billion people.

What happens when, overnight, there's 7 billion?

*To a degree*...if half of everything included animals, then there's a massive surge of slaughterable animals.  But that won't last that long.  And it'll still take time to slaughter, age safely, process, and distribute.  OK, there's *some* food in the supply chain, but when you double demand, it simply won't last.  And fruits and veggies?  Tree fruits and nuts...perhaps the trees wouldn't have been <snap>ed but a fair few would've fallen to lack of care.  But most veggies and grains?  They're annuals.

OK here is my very basic outline for the adventure.  Its 5 parts (I jettisoned the parade sequence since it just felt like filler) and have it broken down like this with the scenario and what elements of the rules are introduced in each one (subject to change as I write each section):

    Memories (200 point PCs)
-How to hit and deal stun damage
    -Perception rolls
    -Dexterity and Speed

Assault on Tanghal Tower (225 points)
    -Interaction with NPCs
    -Skills
-Use of powers for other than combat
    -Recovery as a stat

Digital Distress (was Microfilm Madness) (250 points)
    -Basic Combat Maneuvers
    -Skill Levels
    -Presence Attacks
    -Presence as a stat

Combat in Christopher Park (275 points)
    -Killing and other alternate damage
    -Complications
-Martial Arts and other combat maneuvers
    -Body as a stat

    Doomsday (300 points)
    -Multipowers
    -Foci
    -Multiple and Combined Attacks
    -Mental Powers
    -END Cost
-OMCV, DMCV, and Endurance as stats

The final scenario is basically "here's Champions in all its facets" without the super complicated parts like power pools.  Multipower seems crazy confusing but that's only true if you use variable slots.  Make everything fixed and its a super simple idea: you can use any of these abilities, one at a time.  I've built a bunch of 300 point characters that are pretty stripped down and I'm in the process of making up lower powered versions staged up for each scenario.

I agree, my philosophy of agents is that they are supposed to be cannon fodder, I want my heroes to mow through them, I want them to do that Captain America thing where he gets buried in a pile of them then throws them all away.  Agent power creep has been big time in later Hero stuff, more than I like.  But that's just my opinion.

Been watching a Brit show called "The Repair Shop" in which patrons bring in broken or old family treasures for a museum repair shop to fix up for them.  Its very low key and prosaic and has a nice cozy feel, plus you get to see craftsmen working on amazing things and how they are repaired and renewed.

Since starfleet is only military in the most vague, least significant sense of the term, I don't know as civilian is all that different than enlisted on a starship.

Another option for the faux Iron Man is to ignore that he's ever out of the suit; the scenario could be simple enough that there's no down time or non-hero moments.

I see the simple campaign in three stages:

    1) an intro packet, super simple, with pre-made characters and enemies, with a tutorial that gives a step by step method of learning how to play the system
    2) a simple campaign packet with everything minimal a player and GM needs to play Champions or what have you but with all the core information and options, but stripped down as simply as possible, plus an adventure, and a method of stringing printed adventures together into a storyline/campaign
    3) the full printed information with all the rules, dials, bells, whistles, etc so that people can get that if they want to have all the best info and options at their fingertips.

And yes, more adventures, more modules, more stuff to do with the system instead of just the system.  I know that they do not sell all that well, but I also know that game systems and rulesets don't sell that well without something to do with them, which means adventures.  I'm doing my little part to create all this, but we need others to do the same.

If it takes the fan base dragging the carcass of Hero over the line so that the company can get the cash, motivation, and focus to do more, I say that's what we do.

Yeah, if all you wanted was "how to play the game" rather than "how to build a character or know what these things on a character sheet mean" (powers, stats, skills) then you can get it to a few dozen pages.

Well shoot, too bad because that's a sweet name but Marvel is notoriously litigious even if they don't have a legal leg to stand on.  Hero has already been sued by them in the past, I don't want to hand them any more troubles.  Kind of pathetic for them to make a clone of X-23 to begin with, let alone use that name, but that's modern Marvel Comics for you.

How about... Red Raptor?  A savate/kick boxer with a foot claw instead.  Marvel has made just about every lame variant of hand claws there is now.

OK as I get a first draft down to sections of this I'm going to post them as pdfs here for people to look over and comment on.

    My goals are these:
To create a package that has a book for GMs and a book for Players For each book to be fun, easy to read, and teach the system The scenario is in tutorial format (familiar to gamers) introducing concepts one bloc at a time, until they know enough to play the game without the tutorial I'm using the old Viper's Nest/Microfilm Madness scenario updated for modern times (so, no microfilm) Each chapter has an intro to the rules used in this section, then the episode of the scenario Players will have pre-made PCs to choose from in very familiar and well-loved archetypes with fun and colorful names and costumes Each entire book should be slender and filled with images for all ages The end result is intended as a free product for players to download and use Ideally, eventually, I'd love to see this packaged as a box set with dice, a map, a GM screen, that kind of thing.
Please be constructive and positive, any nit picking or troublemaking comments will be cheerfully ignored.
