My faves for supers are Shape shifter, and Speedster. Otherwise Martial Brick. I just seem to like oddball power sets. In general I like to play the Champion, some one who protects a place or organization. Peasant hero or Paladin, I'm happiest as a capable defender.

I firmly believe that winning teams are built from the line outward, and the Browns drafted several talented linemen.....

Yeah, space craft are differant to planetary craft. Some things will work out the same, and some will be "strange". Basicly a large ship can be just as "fast" as a small ship, in fact depending on how it is propelled it can, or should be faster. But a small craft is still going to be able to overcome it's inertia with less energy, and that May equal superior acceleration and manuver. The main reason to use small intercepters might be simple cost, it is a smaller risk to send a small intercepter than a cruiser in a battle space that includes fusion weapons, etc...

Heck, in a world that has supers, multi shot recoiless shoulder weapons would be likely "thing" so 4 to 6 shots of 20mm or 2-4 30mm Might be a common military grade system.

The DoD keeps real good statistics on this, though they might not be willing to share them. Consider that Somebody needs to figure the number of body bags needed, medical resources etc. 10% sounds about right for a beach landing, consider that Decimation litteraly means "10% loses" to put that in context. Morale does have an impact on Artillery fire casaulties ..sorta. Veteran units suffer less loses, that seems to be because the "best" way to get injured is to stand up. Veterans know this and "wait out" bombardments better. Sadly it might be because the sorts of folks who panic, and try to run, are the first to die, leaving the "calmer" troops to become veterans. But check the DoD web sites.....

Yeah, I'd say you've got it inverted...Gun totin vigilantes, then it got toned down to street level heroes for marketing reasons.
