  1. Re: Spiderman style aerial mobility Swinging with Position Shift, No Turn Mode (+1/4)
  2. Re: Disads for Dana Scully I'd consider a Distinctive Feature. A description of Dana from the "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" episode: "One of them was disguised as a woman, but wasn't pulling it off. Like, her hair was red, but it was a little too red, y'know?" And a similar description of Mulder, by the same character: "And the other one, the tall, lanky one, his face was so blank and expressionless. He didn't even seem human. I think he was a mandroid."
  3. Re: "Neat" Pictures That's one ugly mother-blocker.
  4. Re: "Neat" Pictures Personally, I'd blame Charro.
  5. Re: S.H.A.R.D. - Super Hero Acronym Resource Directory I sometimes use H.O.H.O. (The Honotable Order for Humans Only) as an IHA/Genocide group in my campaigns.
  6. Re: Speculation on Hero Releases in 2099 The year 2099 will finally see the release of the Champions Computer Game.
  7. Re: Mental Defense for the Dead I generally treat Dead/Undead as a new Class of Minds. If your mental powers only work on dead/undead, there's no mechanical changes needed. But if you can affect living and dead minds, you'd need to pay the +10 Adder for affecting a second Class of Minds.
  8. Re: Seeking Deckplan Sources (Semi Traveller Hero Related) Although not Traveller-specific, you might enjoy the Future Armada line.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... This week, the superhero team was going up against the Ultimates, which includes the mute member Radium. One of the heroes on the superhero team is Rex, a talking dog (who's also a martial artist from space, but that's another story). We cracked up imagining a situation in which Radium needed to get help for a teammate, and found Rex. Radium: ... Rex: "What's that boy? Binder is trapped in a well by the old mill?"
  10. Re: What's the story about the Haymaker! zine? Haymaker! was an APAzine, meaning that it was essentially only available to its authors. So it had, at its peak, a circulation of probably 30. I probably do have a complete set of issues (I had a hard drive crash several years ago, and I might be missing a couple of the PDF issues), but it was hardcopy only from around '92 to '97. It went PDF for another dozen or so issues, but they're not available to the general public.
  11. Re: Gestalt of the Week I keep forgetting to update this thread. There's a new one up today -- this time the Gestalt of Earthquakes.
  12. http://articles.citypages.com/articles/2008-01-16/feature/superheroes-in-real-life/ Between 150 and 200 real-life superheroes, or "Reals" as some call themselves, operate in the United States, with another 50 or so donning the cowl internationally. Also see thread at NGD
  13. Re: Most Obscure Reference You've Ever Worked Into a Game That sounds awesome.
  14. Re: Yog-sothoth.com Also check out Tom Smith's free song downloads, which includes a Christmas song entintled "Yog Sothoth" O Yog Sothoth O Yog Sothoth, O Yog Sothoth, We worship you, O Yog Sothoth. Who's Santa Claus, who's Jesus Christ? We worship Yog 'cause he's not nice. We'll celebrate with some stray dog, Which we'll carve up and serve to Yog. O Yog Sothoth, O Yog Sothoth... We beg you, do not eat us. http://filkertom-itom.blogspot.com/
  15. Re: SuperSquad America: Replacing Challenger Ooh, or what if everyone at the table played an alternate "Challenger" this year, all trying to somehow become the predominant Challenger that will win membership on the team when their universes collide and merge.
  16. Re: SuperSquad America: Replacing Challenger Joey might go into it with different motivations. Instead of donning the armor to fight crime as a patriot, maybe he wants to finally work out some of those kinks so that he can reproduce it. If he could just get it working well enough, the designs could be sold to law enforcement and military personnel, etc. So he sees himself as more of a field-tester than a superhero.
  17. Re: MancerBear's Art Den Oh! It's a hand?
  18. Re: Hero All-Stars 2008 I have a very low threshold of death. My doctor says I can't have bullets enter my body at any time.
  19. Re: Not Quite Arm-Fall-Off Lad You might want to look at Invisible Indirect Stretching.
  20. Re: Hero All-Stars 2008 I think it would be more fun if the PCs are all Bond himself! Turns out, "James Bond" is sort of an ageny code name for their top spy. Over the years, several agents have held this role. There's the gruff Scotsman, the smug Brit, the street-smart American, etc.
  21. Re: Space 1999 aka Space 2099 You could also tie in a bit of "Lost" with the campaign, and these interstellar castaways find that the asteroid they're on has been inhabited before. They find secret tunnels, artifcats, runes, etc. That would also help explain why they keep going to interesting spots -- the asteroid was designed for travel, and may even have a specified route.
  22. Re: Fromage? I'd be okay with selling back END. The real cheese would be trying to put a Lim on REC that it only recovers STUN. One thing, though, that the character would be giving up in my campaign, though, is the ability to Push. I don't allow that from END Reserves.
  23. Re: Giant Brick Tricks Something I often stipulate is: Running +X"; Does Not Work For Move-Throughs on Smaller Targets (-1/4) Otherwise, it gets way too overkill.
  24. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Obviously, an L would stand for Lectricity.
