  1. I'm running a commando-turned-mercenary in a freeform RPG and I came up with a notion for his carry weapon. Imagine this; http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/82/Enfield_bullpup_prototype.jpg with plastic furniture, transparent 30-round plastic magazines, rail interface system, scope, under-barrel clip on 40mm grenade launcher. Also it's ambidextrous so southpaws can use it with equal ease. The fore-end of this version has been cut down so it is now 30 inches (actually making it 3 inches shorter than an M4 with the stock extended) and the barrel reduced from 24.5 inches to 20 inches (same as the Steyr AUG rifle) and given an M16A2 flash hider. I'd like it to be threaded too, to accept a sound suppressor, if possible.
  2. And of course Jrska doesn't object to female partners. I think this new chickie is in for a big old shock in the very near future.
  3. For realz? That's pretty uncanny.
  4. M.A.V.R.I.C. sounds like the Champs version of Skynet...
  5. Talking about hearing protection, or the lack of it. I was at an Archenemy gig some years back, held in a rather small theatre. Some bright spark decides to kick the volume waaay up so that, even sitting in the back as I was (and always do), I was half-deaf for about a week afterward. No, I wasn't wearing hearing protection... I hadn't anticipated the need. Sitting at the back usually is protection enough and the volume is at a contextually reasonable level. And, back on subject: those "tacticool" lever action rifles are just ugly. The original models, OTOH, are things of beauty, such as the Winchester 1873 or 1894. Still, here's what I'd like to have: http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/tactical-ii/tactical-custom-ii
  6. And I would add some retro 80's synth such as track from an artist name of Perturbator, or check out tracks by Noir Deco, including one called Cyberpolis. Or, y'know, you could just have Vangelis and Jean MIchel Jarre. There's an album by Vangelis called . Tangerine Dream also do great work. Yes, I'm a fan of electronica. You can tell, can't you?
  7. *Researches* The giant ants in Them! were eight feet long. Plenty big enough, I'd say. Now, all you have to do is explain how they grew that big without suffocating or collapsing under their own weight...
  8. And rely on the fact that most people are to stupid, selfish and easily distracted to get informed.
  9. And that reminds me... is this Jrska any relation to Jrska the gnoll warrior you posted on Deviant Art, Drhoz?
  10. Jrska has become my favourite characters, Drhoz and "Slaanesh's Lonely Hearts Club Warband" is the funniest thing on the QotW thread.
  11. The Flash enjoys Katachurian's Sabre Dance. The Fastest Music In the World for the Fastest Man In the World.
  12. I regard any world-class bad guys as being able to hire top-end former miltary guys: ex-SEALs, Marines, KGB Alpha Teamers, SAS, etc, as well as regular soldiery. His bodyguards would certainly be supersoldier types. And they would definitely all have KS: Superhuman World on an INT roll, as would his regular agent types, the guys who did the gumshoe work for him. And they wouldn't be mooks either, but smart, tough, capable professionals, on the level of undercover police or MI5 types. The idea is that the PCs have to work at defeating these guys, they can't simply one shot them. Or not more than once, anyway.
  13. CelticBolt's a brilliant artist.
  14. I like this, Chris. You explain things very clearly.
  15. Fave superhero: Captain America (with apologies to the Batman and Spider-Man) Fave superhero team: Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, Cap, etc... the "classic line-up") Fave super villain: Doc Doom (for silliness) or Magneto Favourite "villain": I really like Catwoman.
  16. And one of the things the characters have to deal with is the collateral damage from all the infighting. You could play it as a CU version of all the squabbling that took place between Alexander of Macedon's generals to get his empire for themselves that went on when Alexander died, leaving no heir and no bureaucracy to survive him. (Same thing happened to Attila the Hun's "empire" when he died.)
  17. Build it as a vehicle... that's how I built the BLACKJACK powered armour suit. And I think NATO reporting names for Russian aircraft are good names for armour suits.
  18. And you style yourself the Architect of Reality, too. Have you, then, seen through the Matrix? Or are you there to see that no-one does?
  19. A Jedi can't parry bullets: they move too fast. The only reason they can parry laser bolts is that they are shown moving about as fast as a crossbow bolt or arrow. And my sci-fi melee weapon of choice? A Monadnock PR-24 side-handle night stick made from high-quality polycarbonate. No tricky, sci-fi-styled bells or whistles needed.
  20. I would second the request for paragraphs... and wider margins, just to make it easier to read. Other than that, it looks really good.
  21. Ah, yes, the Illithid barber. I think he's been posted before and I remember there was some consternation on my part.
