  1. Re: Exoplanet detection news Who's to say kudzu will even survive there? It might be daisies or tomatoes or clover that goes nuts growing in those conditions and won't be eaten by the native life.
  2. Re: Exoplanet detection news Still over 190 years, if I'm not mistaken. Which, I guess, means you can spend a few years at the rest stop and it won't really matter.
  3. Re: Technologically advanced Neanderthals? I've heard (and tend to believe) that the edge Cro-Magnons had over Neanderthals was domesticated dogs. Sensitive smell and hearing, and not too picky about what they eat.
  4. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Actually, you got me...
  5. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares I laughed out loud. Wish I could rep you...
  6. Re: The Atlantean Age It's kind of a Superpowered Fantasy Hero game. Your average Atlantean soldier has physical stats around 20, and most people can use at least a little magic. True wizards are terrifying in power. There are no character sheets for the gods, but there are sheets for some pretty earth-shattering "mere mortals".
  7. Re: Victorian Era Champions Oh I didn't realize Darren was converting it...that's worth the wait I'd bet.
  8. Re: WII Bounty Hunters I was all about a Bounty Hunter game for Wii. What was presented was pretty interesting too, although I'm not sure how a bandaged head translates into a skull in a bubble...
  9. Re: Victorian Era Champions Check out the Kerberos Club if you can find a copy to borrow, or don't mind dropping the money to buy one. It's a pretty interesting Victorian supers setting.
  10. Re: Need Help With Urban Fantasy I played a crazy homeless guy in the last Urban Fantasy game I was in. Huge Perception bonuses and Eidetic memory. He wasn't actually an employee of Daylight Investigations (he refused to "work"), but it was so useful to have him around that they would overlook it when he ate all the mayonnaise in the break room.
  11. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
  12. Re: Order of the Stick To keep out the non-spell-using riff-raff.
  13. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares This forum has rules against language like that.
  14. Re: "Neat" Pictures So did you set this out of sheer orneriness, or does it play into your greater schemes?
  15. Re: More Papercraft! This time for Star Hero The link is in the word "here" at the end of the second sentence. And Dave Okum is aka penemue, IIRC.
  16. Re: Where Pulp Is Now Ever since I first came into contact with Clive Cussler's work, I've known pulp was alive and well.
  17. Re: Mars Surface shaped by Water Haha! Great catch there, Shadowcat. I'd rep if I could.
  18. Re: The Hero System is bland and over complicated More importantly, he seems to be basing his opinion of gameplay entirely on the ruleset, without regard to how the rules are applied in any given setting. Calling Hero "bland" without looking at Alien Wars, Tuala Morn, or Keith Curtis's Savage Earth is like looking at a blank notebook at Barnes and Noble and saying that all the novels there suck.
  19. Re: "Neat" Pictures Etch-a-sketch doesn't really have the refresh rate to support a game like that. I can't recommend it for anyone who even begins to take their gaming seriously.
  20. Re: Conan: The Current Movie in Progress.....
  21. Re: A Robert E. Howard moment..... But that way you don't get to use your grognard powers to inspire the next generation....
