The sheer size and cost of the Character Creation and Combat and Adventuring rulebooks seems to be putting off some of the potential players for the HERO System in my local area. So, what I'd like to know, is if they can play the game with just the Basic Rulebook even though I'll be GMing using the full volumes 1 and 2 rulebooks. I understand that the Basic Rulebook contains most of the rules, but does it contain enough when I'll be using some of the optional rules as well?

In a fit of Bookpedia induced OCD, I'm looking for ISBNs, MSRPs, and Stock Numbers for some of the old Hero stuff I own, mostly Hero Plus PDFs. I've lost the original info and the PDFs aren't telling. None of them seem to have ISBNs, for example. I don't know if Hero Plus ever used ISBNs. I've attached a PDF list. What's missing should be reasonably obvious. I'd appreciate any help you can give. That "The Golden Age of Champions" on the list is the first, third edition one from Firebird, not the fourth edition redo from Hero. Getting at least an ISBN goes a long way towards finding one.

Here's our back-cover text describing AtA: THE WONDERS OF ATLANTIS Tens of thousands of years before the modern day, Earth was a very different place: a realm where Magic took the place of Science, strange monsters walked the land, and the Dominion of Atlantis was the most powerful land in the world. The Atlantean Age is your guide to this wondrous High Fantasy setting for Fantasy Hero — to a world where characters possess awesome powers of might and magic that may make them the equal of the gods themselves! It includes: —a complete history of the Dominion of Atlantis from its humble beginnings, to its golden age, to its collapse into decadence and civil w…

Print versions of otherwise B&W titles have them, the preview images in the Hero Store are all in color, and color covers are, well, cool.

Here's our back cover text for TBoD: THE MIGHTIEST MONSTERS Monsters are a staple of most Fantasy campaigns — but the same old trolls, demons, and zombies aren’t enough for some games. Sometimes the mightiest heroes need the largest, most powerful monsters to challenge them. The Book Of Dragons presents about mega-monsters for your Fantasy Hero games, including: —Dragons: The fire-breathing archetypical monster of legend and myth is thoroughly reviewed, with character sheets for dozens of varieties of dragons, tips on how to use dragons in your campaign, and more. —Other Monstrosities: Dragons aren’t the only gigantic, fearsome monsters out there! Th…

Hi folks Just wondered when we might expect to see the print version of the Bestiary in the UK? I think the book has been available in the on-line store for around a month and I've spotted it on the web sites of a few US retailers. However, my main FLGSs in Burton, Birmingham, and London don't think it is out yet. Is this another communication problem with these guys: http://www.esdeviumgames.com/index.php? Ian

I was curious. Was the Great White Hunter's Bestiary listed in the Online Store written for 5e or 6e? It is listed under 6th ed Rule Books, but I thought it was completed last year, before the release or 6e.

Inquiring minds (i.e., I) want to know: are there any plans for doing a 6E book on Mentalists? If so, what (if anything) do you plan on doing differently than you did with The Ultimate Mentalist (aside from the obvious "base it on the 6E rules")?

Is it just characters, or are there things like the weapons and armour, like some of them have?

As described in Champions Powers, it's a tricked up DEX Drain. The description indicates this power makes the character clumsy and less accurate in attacks. Is this accurate based on 6th edition rules, because I thought OCV was not affected by DEX?

Help! I have all the Ultimate Series in PDF form (and softbound too). I have PDF of Pulp Hero, Star Hero, Lucha Libre Hero, Fantasy Hero, Urban Fantasy Hero and Post Apocalyptic Hero. I have PDF of Fantasy Grimoire. But as an OCD sufferer with a completist fetish, I need Ultimate Mystic, Ninja Hero and Fantasy Grimoire II in PDF. Where do these three stand on a priority list for conversion?

Hi All- I have been a fan of the Superhero RPG ever since high school where many Friday nights were devoted to TSR's Marvel Superheros. I think I have tried most of the systems since then (Ninjas and Superspies; Marvel Super Heroes; Gurps Supers; and Mutants and Masterminds). Somehow I missed Hero System and Champions - I knew they existed but no one I knew played them so I never picked them up. I read some reviews and I really want to give this system a go. I recently Ordered the 6th Edition Character Creation and Combat & Adventuring guides and I await thier arival. Are these compatible with previous editions? I have been poking around at th…

According to the news on Feb 5, the Champions Powers book was to contain not only a writeup of standard superpowers, but also writeups of all the Champions Online superpowers. However, when I purchased the Champions Powers pdf, there was no such chapter. Was this intentional? And if so, why was there no announcement that the book contents had changed? " ...My focus this week has been on writing Champions Powers. By the time you read this, or not too soon thereafter, I’ll finally be done with checking over, and where necessary revising, the thousands of superpowers in Chapter One, and will have proceeded on to Chapter Two, where I create write-ups of all the Cham…

....and you all know you want it! It's by Ken Hite no less! Serpent Scales #1: The New Konfederacy Serpent Scales: Fragments from the World After the Serpentfall There are a thousand tales to be told in the world of The Day After Ragnarok, some big and some small. Serpent Scales is an ongoing series of articles shining some light into the interesting little corners of the world after the Serpentfall. These smaller articles will cover the people, places and things of the post-Serpentfall world that are just a bit too esoteric for a full supplement. Sizes and prices will vary for each issue. But don’t worry, playability and usability are our top priority, no…

Here’s our back-cover text describing VAmok: VILLAINY MOST FOUL! Among the thousands of adventures Champions GMs run, a few favorite types — classics from the worlds of comic books and the movies — stand out. This book looks at several of the most exciting “classic” types of scenarios and provides suggestions, options, and resources for using them in your campaign. That way you can keep them fresh and exciting even after repeated use. Your heroes won’t know wh…

Hi I'm fairly new to RPG in general and brand new to Champions. I'm a big comic fan and a big post apocalyptic fan so am interested to get started with Champions in a few ways. I want to be able to play in a 'traditional' superhero style world with classic style heroes and I may also want to play in a post apocalyptic setting. I see there is a post apocalyptic book so would probably get that, but what is the core stuff i need to get my hands on? and what are good campaigns and source books for the other bits. Appreciate the help
