AliceTheOwl
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I don't like horror films either. Maybe we should form a club? We should! I'm always having to explain to people that I just don't watch horror movies. I make exceptions for things that don't actually scare me (vampires, zombies, etc), but every time I break my rule for something scary, I turn into a huge scaredy-cat for the next week or two. It drives Josh nuts.
Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Great moments in educational web design: example 4891 If I knew it'd been done on purpose, it'd be funny, since the link page for that says "These animals live under logs and stones..." Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Hm. There's a total solar eclipse a week from tomorrow. You have to be in Africa, Europe, or [EDIT] WESTern Asia to see it. Von D-Man, looks to be about 80% from most of Israel, with the path of totality west and north of there. L. Marcus
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Just got back from cooking with the work crew. Pasta with fried veggies and ham. Tasted nice. I'm a good chef (one of the things I've inherited from dad. Another one is my shape) Crappy dessert, though. Dark chocolate and kiwi don't mix. Mantis
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Last night I got home to find an offer to join the "Golden Key International Honour Society". Membership is offered to everyone who places in the top 15% of undergraduates at the University of South Australia (UniSA). My first thought: "Ooh, it's an offer to join the UniSA Illuminati!" Second thought: Since they do have such a low profile, why join them? What return will I get on the $93 membership fee? Anyone else ever heard of these people, or any other Honor Societies? Yes, I have. For your $93 you get the privilege of paying more money (dunno what it is now) for a book which has your name and blurb in it (all in impressive Flyspeck 2 font), along with a few hundred other people sucker enough to pay for the same privilege. Think of it in the same way as a Nigerian bank fraudspam solicitation, but based on an appeal to foolish snootiness instead of foolish avarice. Except they have a shred of legality behind which they can continue to operate.

AliceTheOwl
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Hey, my webpage is kind of interesting now! More interesting than half the ones I've clicked thanks to anipike, anyway. I've added a bunch of pictures (including some that have myself in them), and the front page looks pretty full with links and text. Yeah, I know that's the worst thing I can do to create an eye-catching site, but I'm not trying to get anyone's attention; I'm just playing around. ghost-angel
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER do not make the mistake of believing i am the person who is speaking to you now i am not that is to say N-O-T this is an indisputable fact that has been scientifically proven it is useless to belabor facts that have already been proven just as it is useless to wander off on a tangent with a bullwhip in search of a dead horse if you do not accept this to be true then you are insane and will be locked up i personally have never been locked up but that is because i personally have never been insane nor have have i ever personally, that is to say, as a person, been a criminal. you, on the other hand, are obviously crazy this is a scientific fact that is instinctively and intuitively obvious to all peoples of all races, creeds, and colors. and in all walks of life. please do not obsfucate matters with science or other baloney sandwiches your opinions are not relevant to the issue of your mental capacity but rather are dead horses which are not N-O-T to be flogged my purpose here is to clearly demonstrate to all concerned that you are indeed insane so that all doctors, policemen, and other persons of authority will be shown to their professional satisfaction the truth of my statements please do not change color while i am talking to you of course everyone knows that my statements are always truthful but unfortunately i must demonstrate to you the fact that you are not in touch with reality because i have only have your best interests at heart and you must learn to function in the modern world of today may i please have fifty cents? functioning is the process whereby decent people of society inter-relate with one another for the sole purpose of keeping the modern world a safe place for all in which to live if you get my drift
