gewing
Re: Musings on Random Musings I despise the ENTIRE REALITY TV SHOW BOOM!!! I'll show them survivor. 8 people, one island, 8 knives, 200 feet of rope, 4 tarps, 2 frypans, 2 kettles. 8 weeks. no provided FOOD or water. Who will still be alive? The whole thing reminds me of the Lilliputian political system where political offices are determined by whoever can tightrope walk the furthest... Is it a bad sign when real life starts doing things seriously that first appeared as satire? DocMan

gewing
Re: Musings on Random Musings Zornwil, that would be too much like "The most Dangerous game" If they work together, they should be able to survive in most parts of the world with a little common sense. Its not like I would drop them on a bare coral Atol... there would be fish, probably some mammalian or avian food, fresh water, and weather that would not overstress the basic clothes they came in. The island off of Thailand (?) that Survivor used one time would work. Or one of the Northwest coastal islands, depending on season. I might be REALLY nice and hide a short book on survival techniques or some other useful things like that in places that if they are REALLY thinking things through, they will check out. My idea was that there would be IR and daylight cameras all over the island, as well as microphones. It isn't one of those things where the LONE SURVIVOR gets all the money (unless we did talk show hosts, but there would be a little problem with the pickup afterwards) I would arrange some way for individuals to wimp out, and there would be a doctor and an amphibious plane on standby. I am not a COMPLETE barbarian. Usually. I tuned into Survivor the first time because this is what I thought it was going to be. Then the first tribal council happened. I was sorely disappointed. Guest Skaramine
Re: Musings on Random Musings You know it's going to be a bad day when you want to put on the clothes you wore home from the party and there aren't any. I thought that was a sigh of the end of a good day.

Guest Skaramine
Re: Musings on Random Musings The one good thing about repeating your mistakes is that you know when to cringe. In my case, I'm like the prostitute who killed her gag reflex. I've made the same damn mistakes so many times, it feels like rewards now, not punishment. Edsel
Re: Musings on Random Musings This is the first time I've felt Neptune so I thought I'd use that smiley. I've never felt Jupiter , Mars , Staurn , or Pluto before. If any of you have I am curious what they feel like. I've never felt Uranus, or anybody elses for that matter (at least that I'll discuss). Occasionally I feel Mercury, but never this early in the morning.

lemming
Re: Musings on Random Musings 4 young "men" decided to streak by the office earlier, they had on tennis shoes and t-shirts. NOthing else, except 2 had hats on. Now if I could only bleech my brain... At Burning Man, going around nude is perfectly acceptable. Except for one look. And that is the t-shirt/no pants look. Seems to mainly be guys who do this, no idea why. Every year, it gets ridiculed. Last year, a camp decided they had enough and put together a pants cannon. Basically it would shoot a pair of pants at those that had that look. Last years model was fixed location and only had a range of 30 feet or so. This year's model was a two man portable with a 75 foot range.
