Rope

Here is a strange question - especially from a player of champions since 3rd Edition.

How would you model ordinary rope in Champions?

It is a problem that can be avoided in a heroic game, but if a player wanted to include it amoung his/her equipment, what would be the best power or combination of powers to simulate all the many things a good rope can be used for?

Re: Rope

How good is the character with the rope? For a character that knows how to use a lasso, you might have something like:

Stretching, with various limitations (like No non combat stretching and cannot do damage)

Entangle (probably with decent BODY/DEF if you don't want normals busting out with STR, but take vulnerability or non resistance defense limits so it can still be cut or burned through easily)

EB, Continuous, NND, Limited Range (strangle someone by throwing it around neck)

Swinging (possibly with limitations the allow it to only be used with a proper attachment point, depending on how strict the GM is about such things)

Re: Rope

Make sure that anything you do with rope is accompanied by the appropriate skill rolls and powers. Rope alone isn't good for anything, but if you know how to tie solid knots, fasten belays, use a whip, fashion and throw a lariat, hogtie a pig, etc. it becomes quite powerful. :)

Rope is kind of like flour to a pastry chef. The flour alone isn't all that edible, but with a little skill you can have chocolate cake!

Re: Rope

For our next trick we'll argue on how to model a set of flatware' date=' all eight (or eleven, I forget how many pieces you can fit into a place setting...) pieces.[/quote']

How ever many it is, the small pistols go to the left of the place setting. :doi:

or ...

Spoons would have higher DCs "because they hurt more." :idjit:
