Re: Adult Entertainment

I am thinking that it would be difficult to have a magazine that focused on naked metahumans because your source material would be limited. In the real world there aren't magazines dedicated to only naked actors (that I know of), and although I am sure it is a sales boost to Playboy when they get a celebrity to bare all, that is hardly their bread and butter.

So really you could come up with any plausible porn mag name and just let them feature supers when they can rather than being wholly dedicated to it. Or have a magazine dedicated to supers that has fantasy spreads with naked models playing the parts of the supers for most issues but with an occasional photo shoot with an actual metahuman; I won't try to top the names that have already been posted for that case.

Next up on WWYCD:

Your character is approached by [super adult magazine] to pose nearly naked in an upcoming issue with the payment going to the character's favorite charity. Cape, mask, gloves, boots can stay on. Everything on the torso stays off. Does your character accept?

Could you make that an actual WWYCD Thread?

Actually, it would depend on what you actually consider a meta, and how many exist within the population as a percentage.

Re: Adult Entertainment

Before long he heard voices coming from in front of him. “I swear, she's stacked!” It was a male voice. Jason didn't recall ever coming across a female dog soldier. “She must have about a fifty inch bust.”

Let's think about that one. The woman is eight feet tall.”

...and those legs,” first voice said. “Could you imagine having them wrapped around you?”

Come off it, Burke. She'd snap you in half without even trying. Besides, from what I've heard, she plays for the other team,” the second voice said.

Jason moved closer to the doorway. It was a small office with just the two of them inside, from what he saw. One desk with a computer on it, a couple of chairs, and a small table with a coffee maker seemed to be the entirety of the room's contents.

Whaddaya mean, Joe? Plays for what other team?”

Titanium ain't inta guys, Burke,” a third voice said. “Heard she was seen smooching on dat hawk chick. Least dat's what Bolt says.”

Oh,” Burke said. “At least I gots pics of her down on the beach. I can sell them ta one of the girlie magazines. Maybe that, uh, what's that one? Under the Spandex?”

Skintight?” Joe asked.

Yeah! That' the one. Or maybe Naked Power,” Burke answered. “I got a video from the helmet cam. Swapped out the memory card. Got it all right here!” Jason saw a helmet-less dog soldier pat a pocket.

Oh, man, ya gotta let me have copies, Burke,” Number Three said.

Burke, she finds out you were out following her, much less taking pictures of her getting naked and sunbathing, you won't live long enough to sell them,” Joe told him.

Re: Adult Entertainment

My world has an adult entertainment company (they make films featuring metas) called Epic Entertainment. They might have a publication arm :)

My world has at least one such company, with such 'stars' as Kid Titanic (former teenage sidekick to the growing hero Titanic Man), a projector called Electric Blue, a permanently invisible (unless covered by body paint or some equivalent) woman called The Figure, and so on.

Re: Adult Entertainment

We have a metamorph that can imatate things down to the genetic level, but "she" needs to fully scan a subject to do so, which can only be doen by touch (typical after a grapple)

This could make for a fine villian plot...

1) Take the form of a random villian (or hero)

2) Start a fight with some smoking hot super in order to get close and analyze their form

3) Make an escape

4) Pose nekid

5) Profit!!!

Some clever player might recognize a scandelous pattern of get in fight, end up on cover of adult magazine...

Would be even funnier if the metamorph needed a genetic sample of some sort... even if a cheek swab or hair sample or whatever would work, people would always wonder just how he/she acquired certain forms.

Paladin would not publish those' date=' but might buy them to prevent someone else from publishing them.[/quote']

There was an adult magazine from back in the 50's or 60's named Paladin. Dad's got a few old issues in boxes out in the garage. It was more like Maxim then any modern Pron rag tho.... no naughty bits besides the occasional bare bum

For this field, it works better to do pictorials with the ladies still in skimpy costumes anyway.

Re: Adult Entertainment

Well, in the CU, DCU and MU there are typically between 1000 and 10,000 named superhumans and costumed adventurers. Assuming half of them are female, that gives a number between 500 and 5000. Let's assume at least one in five have a 14+ COM or one level or more of Striking Appearance. That gives a number between 100 and 1000. Let's assume half of them(which includes villainesses) would not pose for a magazine pictorial under any circumstances, even if a million dollars was offered(or donated to charity). Now we're down to between 50 and 500. 50 would just barely be enough to sustain a single magazine devoted solely to female superhumans and costumed adventurers(3-4 pictorials per issue, 12 issues a year).

Of course, the superhuman world being anomalous by definition, there's no reason you couldn't have a whole NPC team of crime-fighting porn stars. Or bank-robbing villains who are porn stars or sex workers in their secret IDs.

Re: Adult Entertainment

I'd guess that at least half of them would have a body that with minor shopping would be good enough for such a magazine. And of course an obvious recourse is to use models, with the appearance of an actual hero or villain being a major sales boosting event. Even _more_ obvious of course is to fill out their pages with candid shots of superhumans taken by bystanders at appearances and fights. I recall back in the old days there was something called something like "Celebrity Skin" which specialized in running paparazzi pics of sunbathing actresses. Oh, and I think that all told I'd tend to assume that the total was more like a hundred thousand than a thousand.

Re: Adult Entertainment

All you need is one enterprising gadgeteer with an "N-Ray Camera"(stopped by human skin)' date=' possibly even a 3-D version. Not even sure the law as written would protect people...they'd need to pass laws to make it illegal...and by then the damage may already have been done.[/quote']I think at the very least that would be partially covered by invasion of privacy. Even for celebrity figures going out fully dressed would give you a "reasonable expectation" of being seen in those clothes.

Hasn't this come up in the real world?

Remember the Airplane II scene with "nude body scanners"? We have the tech (barely) now, and people raised just this concern. IIRC Britain got all in a twist because of their interpretation of child porn law?

Re: Adult Entertainment

In all but the most comic code driven superhero universes "wardrobe malfunctions" have got to a fairly common event in the superhero/villain set. You might be able to bounce that 5d6 rka off your chest but your costume might be the worse for wear afterward. :D

Not really. Damage, sure. Exposure, not so much.

Re: Adult Entertainment

One problem is how risky getting such shots would be for the paparazzi. Sure, Bombshell Betty's not going to be concentrating on making sure she's discreetly covered during a fight where someone's tossing radioactive fireballs at her, but such things could be a lot more deadly to bystanders without the good sense to run for cover than to the participants themselves. War photographers would be about the only people willing to get close enough to that sort of action while keeping their cool to get discernable images, and since super battles tend to erupt and end quickly it's unlikely anyone with the right qualifications would happen to be on the scene in time to record anything.

Looks like another job for supers with invulnerability and super-movement. Just give him a supersturdy camera or hope he is also a robot...
