I have found the only difference beyween prep and low prep is if I take lots of notes before the game or during it.

 

Though if you read the list, it is not a list of prep: it is a list of responsibilities:  keep players engaged, make encounters enjoyable, create and manage NPCs, and listen to pages and pages of PC background /development.

 

Your responsibilities don't change regardkess of how you prepare for a game.

Encounter planning, maps, NPC Names, and lore seem to fall into the prep section. Granted in some games, maps can mean world map and combat map, but that's a matter of games with minis or no minis.
