  1. Re: Cleric 3.5 Spell Conversion Speak with Dead - Detect Answer To Question (10 Active Points), Incantations (-¼), Gestures (-¼), Multiple Obvious Accessible Foci (Holy Symbol & Corpse, -1¼), Only Answers Dead Person Would Know (-0) (4 Real Points)
  2. Re: "Bag of Holding" Throw the Bag Over Someone's Head - HKA 5d6 (No Normal Defense, Defense is Extra-Dimensional Movement to recover head; +1) (150 Active Points) Obvious Accessible Focus (-1), No STR Bonus (-¼), Requires Two Hands (-½) ( 54 Real Points)
  3. Re: test. Sweet mother of god! It has been five days since I mentioned my tasty rump in this thread.
  4. Re: Pool like effect without a pool Seems you have what you want, but thought I would toss a couple more suggestions out there. Lift the "Limitations only apply to Control Cost" rule just for this instance. A new Advantage called Variable Power for +1 or +2 that basically functions much like a Variable Power Pool.
  5. Re: WHY is combat so slow and what have you done about it? Can we get a sticky for this urban legend? I have not found Hero system combat any slower than most of the other games I have played. Stop counting every single point of BODY, END and STUN. Start using mook rules. The GM and players should control pace, not the mechanics.
  6. Re: Bricks Get Hosed, Or Not But my archetype really is hosed.
  7. Re: test. Le sigh. Now what am I going to do. Thanks for taking the wind out of my sails.
  8. Re: Bricks Get Hosed, Or Not Brick - Elemental Control (15 Point Pool) +30 PD (15 Real Points)* +30 ED (15 Real Points) Damage Reduction 50% Physical, Resistant (15 Real Points) Damage Reduction 50% Energy, Resistant (15 Real Points) Life Support, Total (30 Real Points) Total Cost = 105 Points Savings = 60 Points (Roughly the equivalent of a -1 Limitation) *You would probably want to make these Resistant
  9. Re: Bricks Get Hosed, Or Not I had not considered this. Interesting hypothesis. As I have mentioned in another thread, Bricks are my least favorite archetype. Therefore I simply do not play them. I do not think I have ever had a straight up Brick in any of the Supers games I have run. I have had them in Fantasy. I never really saw this as an issue in my Fantasy games. In my Supers games, I never really saw much of a problem for the characters that relied on high defenses. This may be because defenses are relatively cheap. In Fourth Edition, I sometimes put Armor/Damage Reduction/PD/ED in Elemental Controls. This quickly got out of control so I stopped allowing it. If I understand correctly, You can not put Armor in an Elemental Control. However, you can put Force Field and then add 0 Endurance and an Advantage. This seems wrong to me.
  10. Re: test. Wow. Got you to say it yourself. If only my characters had this much influence in game.
  11. Re: No Chat Tonight (Thursday, June 14) Is this because I showed up at the last chat?
  12. Re: test. I seriously doubt it. Every day I am reminded that different people come and do not come to the forums for different reasons. I would not hazard a guess why he did not post further.
  13. Re: The cranky thread Generally feeling unloved and unwanted. Not here, in real life. Not looking for sympathy. Just venting.
  14. Re: Damage flowchart? You could assume all optional rules. Users could skip any step not in use. I have not seen anything resembling such a chart.
  15. Re: Pirate Hero arrrrrg! Chaotic Curse of the Cracked Coral Chimpanzee
  16. Re: Strength of Zero I foresee other problems that will far overshadow how to handle a character with a 0 STR. I Smell Munchkin - Detect Munchkin (5 Active Points), Extra Time (1 Turn; -1¼), Only From Second Hand Account of Activities (-¼) (2 Active Points)
  17. Re: Pirate Hero arrrrrg! It sounds like I could run the entire campaign without ever firing a cannon. Not that I would want to, just saying is all.
  18. Threadjacking He should have contributed more. The way I see it, this is the least offensive form of thread hijacking. Well…maybe not if someone hijacks a thread that actually offers information the original poster finds useful. So the second least offensive form of thread hijacking. Yeah. Yeah. That's the ticket.
  19. Re: Assistance from Others... Grab Unto Something, Pull, Then Let Go - Leaping, Requires (at least) 1 Hand As a Disadvantage, x2 from Knockback
  20. Re: Clean up aisle seven: who is in charge? Bah! Regeneration, Area of Effect, Megascaled, Only vs. Scenery
  21. Re: Superhero Legal Disclaimers Mind Control, "Cease your criminal activities."
  22. Re: Superhero Legal Disclaimers Yeah, I am not sure about that either.
  23. Re: Superhero Legal Disclaimers Police have to identify themselves as police, right? Do they have to identify that they are authorized to use lethal force? "I am a sanctioned metahuman and I am authorized to use lethal force to protect persons and property."
  24. Re: Pirate Hero arrrrrg! Very true. Or even convince the Governor that it is o.k. I had not considered that earlier, but I would certainly let the characters give it a go if they think of it.
