  1. Re: The Future hasn't been Written.....yet I have three of four concepts of the players for the game now. Minor Mage Gun Slinger, X-Texas Ranger, an a motorcycle Martial Artist, Ki-Master
  2. Re: The Future hasn't been Written.....yet I will try and remember that and my players can and do understand the mindset of the era's we play in. Actually one or two almost always are in the golden age mindset in any game.

  4. Re: The Future hasn't been Written.....yet Well what I am doing is using the idea that that "Future haven't been written yet," is to remind the players that from the moment the game starts they can rewite what they as PC's do, that itself will shape the future.
  5. Re: The Future hasn't been Written.....yet I am hoping that this works. I haven't had my group look foward to a game of mine like this in a long time. Didn't hurt that long time player is back with us and is going to be running a WWII game as well.
  6. Well a long lost project got reborn last night. My group is willing to play in a Plup style game. Setting early 1932, the four PC's will be those 'men of mystery'. They will be those that can be the writers of a new future, all they need to do is act at the right time and place and the future will be changed. Base: 125 Disad: 75 PD/ED 15 max rPD/rED/ 8 max DC's will range from 5 to 7 AP limit is 35 they can use any real world device for no cost. I've had the idea for a long time, in this game the PC's are the Doc Savage, Tarzan, Flash Gordan, Dr. Occult, the Phantom, the Shadow of this reality, but they can and will be allowed to alter the future thru actions. One C already created is a Dr. Occult type in that she is a female wizard. One I know that will be done is a gun-toting x-lawman on an 'iron horse'. The other two no idea yet. Ok, I need some help here. 1. Timeline of real world from 1/1/1932 to present. 2. Any of your creative idea's that can help me make this fun for my PC's and myself. 3. Villians, Mooks, etc. Anything that can help me make this easier. I thanks one and all that jump in and help......I like what you give me and I REP you as able.
  7. Re: The new face of Iron Man I've seen that image before somewhere......maybe a what if where Iron Man made armor for many of the Avengers. If this is becoming cannon, thank the heavens I stopped reading comics, before it happened.
  8. Re: Running jokes in your campaign Due to an 18 roll, all of the C's in a game fear being around boy-scouts and little old women with umbrellia's. I had my try to jusp over this group of scouts and well he rolled 18, landed almost on top of said little old lady. She then proceeded to beat the living daylights out of my C. He wasn't hurt but he was/is a Batman type. The embarsement was and isafter 20+ years good for a laugh.
  9. Re: Flash Gordon Series News I hope this is like the old comic strip or the modern version. I so hope it isn't like that so-called 'movie'. I'll watch it if it's good, if not I'll find something better to do.
  10. Re: Amalgamation Hero, let's create new Heroes from old ones He was a simple man, a hunter. One night he went hunting for he's family, it was dark and cold and he wasn't that young anymore. From the heavens he saw a light, a green glowing ball. He stood and watched as it came toward him, at thet very moment a wolverine attacked. An explosion hit the two and a strange melding of the two became one. As well as the man and beast becoming one the lantern that he had carried as well as the metal of the shotgun bonded with this new creature. He had no memory of he's past, and for some time no real understanding of what he was. For years he wandered and remained hidden from the world outside he's woods. He became a ledgend, a creature that walked like a man and defended the land as if it was he's. This creature became know as the "The Green Wolverine." For he looked as if he were a man-sized wolverine with a strange green glow. This being was also know to save those lost in the woods and those that needed food, found it, just when they needed it. In time, over a 100 years passed and in that time the mind of the man had vearned for a life outside he's woods, so he left. Finding that he could take on a fully human form he did so. He took the name Hal Lorgan, not remembering that had been he's name before he was reborn. "The Green Wolverine" when he rejoined the world eventually became known as the "Green Lantern" for when he was in that human form what ever he could dream of became real to him. In he's human form he carries a old fashion lantern that seems to be the focus of he's abilites, but it is not. He also learned that he could return to the glowing green form of the Wolverine, when he uses that form the world knows him as "Wolverine," in this form he is more beast than man and is a fighter of great power and never backs down or runs from a fight. To the world now "Two" heroes fight the never ending battle to protect the innocent. One more than a man and the other more than a beast. To a few that know the truth he is the "The Green Wolverine."
  11. Re: Anime series as a campaign Thank you Mike, that is what I ment.
  12. Re: The cranky thread I got carded not long ago, I have a full head of gray hair and beard. I loved it.
  13. Re: What's Your Favorite PH Campaign Power Level? OK, this was maybe 18 yrs ago, but I did it with 50 base, 50 disad's, and 50 that the players and I work on together to get the feel of the C right. It was set just before the 'Golden Age' of heroes. The PC's were those that came before, those mystery men of the day. They also had a 'team pool' of points to buy needed equipment, bases, followers, etc.. It worked, but after a few games they didn't have to feel for it anymore so it ended.
  14. Re: WWYCD: Brawl At Rick's (Another Bar Fight) Bearcat: Grab the jerk that interputed he's drinking, toss him into the mist of the other jerks, pop claws, smile. "The man said no.....what part of no don't you understand?" Then look at the biggest, baddest of the jerks; BC is all of 5'3", but weighs 350#, and he doesn't look that heavy, and swing: loosing the claws as he hits the guy with a pulled MA-Punch of 15d6.
  15. Re: System cap on creativity I've read this complete thread and all I can say is this. It is all a matter of how one looks at the basic rule-set. If your GM allows it....it is legal.
  16. Re: Anime series as a campaign 1. Record of Lodoss Wars 2. Gun Smith Cats 3. The Dirty Pair 4. Beldandy a few others, some might be a bit too 'overt'
  17. Re: Archetype Twists I did something like that once but with a real twist. The guy was tall, handsome. perfect teeth, etc.. PRE 24, COM 24. On he's home world he was considered very ugly. He comes to Earth and the first time he takes off he's helment most of the attractive woman swoon. He had AE: Mind Control, cluminative, only one command: like me, only effect Earth women, Zero end, peresistant, always on, fully invisiable, (3d6 effect built upto 42, with normal human women they'd have been eventually +30) Poor guy had no idea why these ugly women liked him so much, eventually he did figure out that here on Earth he was one extremely handsome man.
  18. Re: [Campaign] The Fearless Monster Hunters As always the Bunny-man has me hoocked on a great story. I shall give rep now to he, 'cause I can't send him carrots.
  19. Re: The Benchwarmers: Semi-super heroes We had a C that one of our GM's made once. George, the maintance man. Power was that he had max Damage Reduction to everything, invisiable Force Field that was well beyond the range of any hero or villian, all the immunities and safe enviroments, plus didn't have to eat or sleep. He's one offensive ability wasn't even under the C's control, he either absorbed the damage to heal himself or deflected it; both where GM controled. Most dangerous janitor in the world, he became the teams ace in the hole, saved them once by just walking into the fight.
  20. Re: Comics are getting too steamy... Sex for only the sake of sex does nothing in telling a story. One of the probleams with the 'Rust Age' of comics.
  21. Re: Super Hero? ::Eyes Glaze Over:: I never had that probleam when I started playing ohh so many years ago, 25+. I started out in what has become d20. I shall, I hope, never GM in it again. I 'CAN DO ANYTHING IN HERO AND HAVE!!!!!', just pitch it as a game like the TV show HEROES and you might be suprised.
  22. Re: The Godzilla Scenario You could go with the rule that allows the Godzilla clone to not be stunned. Yes I know that it isn't an automaton but it would work.
  23. Re: If Hero was linear If you did this you'd be setting STR by genre. Then you could do that but when you have C's from different genre meet then you have probleams. A C with 'normal-STR' could never hope to damage a C with 'super-STR'. The DEF would have to scale up as well. So a C with 'super-STR' hits a 'normal-STR' C, watch the 'normal' die.
  24. Re: Cost END only to Activate The C that had this had to power up every time she went into a fight, the cost of her stat boost's in end was made by me as GM to be x2 her recovery, so she went into a fight as I said down starting end. It did limit the C, she had to be creative with her Str while conserving her END. She learned the probleams with being stunned and/or KOed. Restart the powers. Let's just say she saved her exp and we dropped that asap. At the time it did allow the C to be created and be on par with her team.
  25. Re: Where did all the Great Ones go? World building. Now I was doing a game that got reconned into an older one that I play in. It was to have had all the 'heroes' of the past have analogs that did exist, and the stories where fictionalized version of what did happen. Now I can't use that in the current game, but eventually I will use this idea as a game setting some time.
