  5. In my opinion, being mortally wounded and dying is a pretty big penalty already. They are already under a time limit. The last thing I'd want to do is impose any further penalties on the last thing a character wants to do. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary wants to go out in a blaze of glory - not spend its last moments flailing around in futile and ineffectual spasms.

Weapon Element: Ground Fighting Without this Element for Hand to Hand Martial Arts, a character cannot use Strikes and cannot use Extra Damage Classes while prone. Even with this Element, Martial Strikes are at -2 Damage Classes, unless built with the "Ground Fighting" Maneuver Element (see below.) Maneuver Element: Ground Fighting This 0 pt Element defines a maneuver as having full value while prone and attacking another prone character, but not usable at all otherwise. Random observation: As far as "mount and strike" goes, I'd just use the Crush Maneuver and redefine it as a ground fighting strike. Same game mechanics, different "special effect." Some builds I had lying around that might be of interest: Master Grappler: (Total: 13 Active Cost, 6 Real Cost) Telekinesis (5 STR), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (13 Active Points); No Range (-1/2), STR Minimum 5 if two handed, 10 if 1 handed (-1/4), Required Hands One-And-A-Half-Handed (-1/4) (Real Cost: 6) The penalties for Grabbing someone don't apply if you Grab with Telekinesis. This is 5 pts of Telekinesis usable for Grab, but with STR Min of 5, so you can add all your STR over 5 to the Grab (unless you're doing it one handed, in which case it works out to your normal STR minus 5.) Note that this DOES NOT help if someone ELSE Grabs YOU. If that seems too cheap, or you think Telekinesis used with Martial Arts should require Fine Manipulation, use this version. Master Grappler: (Total: 28 Active Cost, 14 Real Cost) Telekinesis (5 STR), Fine Manipulation, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (28 Active Points); No Range (-1/2), STR Minimum 5 if two handed, 10 if 1 handed (-1/4), Required Hands One-And-A-Half-Handed (-1/4) (Real Cost: 14) Here's a talent that's useful when you're Grabbed. Hard to Hold: (Total: 10 Active Cost, 4 Real Cost) Extra Limb (1), Invisible Power Effects (Fully Invisible; +1) (10 Active Points); Costs Endurance (-1/2), Concentration, Must Concentrate throughout use of Constant Power (1/2 DCV; -1/2), Limited Power Only for purposes of having limbs free when grabbed (-1/4), Inaccurate (1/2 OCV; -1/4) (Real Cost: 4) Of course you don't sprout extra arms when grappled - it just seems that way because no matter how many times your opponents think they have your extremities secured you always find a way to break the grip or wiggle out - not breaking out of the Grab entirely, but always having at least one free hand to do something with. Here's a less certain version requiring a Contortionist Roll.   9. I am not a big fan of Perks, but this seems to make sense. For one thing, when I try building it as a Power I get Always Connected: (Total: 34 Active Cost, 8 Real Cost) Penetrative with Radio Group (15 Active Points); Limited Power Only for Internet (-1), Extra Time (1 Minute, Only to Activate, -3/4), Costs Endurance (-1/2), Lockout (-1/2), Restrainable (Only by means other than Grabs and Entangles; -1/4), Requires A Roll (14- roll; -1/4), Unified Power (-1/4) (Real Cost: 3) <b>plus</b> MegaScale (1m = 1 km; +1) for up to 10 Active Points of Radio Perception & Transmission (10 Active Points); Limited Power Only for Internet (-1), Extra Time (1 Turn (Post-Segment 12), Only to Activate, -3/4), Lockout (Other Radio Senses; -1/2), Restrainable (Only by means other than Grabs and Entangles; -1/4), Unified Power (-1/4) (Real Cost: 3) <b>plus</b> +6 versus Range Modifier for Radio Group (9 Active Points); Limited Power Only Internet (-1), Extra Time (1 Turn (Post-Segment 12), Only to Activate, -3/4), Restrainable (Only by means other than Grabs and Entangles; -1/4), Nonpersistent (-1/4), Unified Power (-1/4) (Real Cost: 2) It might be worth that if no one has access for free at any time.   10. So by this reasoning, I couldn't apply Uncontrolled to STR either. Then there would be a separate purchase of Nonpersistant Uncontrolled REC, instead of applying the modifiers to the character's base REC score. Unless it's part of the character conception that the character needs outside intervention to recover from unconsciousness. 6th edition vol 1 3rd sentence of the 2nd paragraph under Uncontrolled: "The uncontrolled Power runs for as long as there's END to power it." If "runs" doesn't mean "works" I don't know what it means. But you do make a very powerful argument which I've bolded: I find it hard to argue with the position that since REC is by default Persistent, the way it would run - or work - while Uncontrolled would be about the same as how it operates (runs, works,) by default. Darn it. If I can't find a logical way to refute that then I may have to concede that you're right.   13. I can't help it. I was thinking about this again. And about the fact that "the world is at stake" implies, even if you're lawful evil, "MY LIFE is at stake." I'm just finding it hard to believe that not ONE of the bodyguards has so far confronted their priest with "Are you and I both going to help take down that vampire, or am I going to have to kill you first?" Or that the priests, who presumably have Wisdom, haven't started casting defensive spells on themselves in anticipation of that. edit: Or for that matter that the priests, who again presumably have some Wisdom, are just sitting around with their holy symbols up their Lucius Alexander The palindromedary notes that this has gone on too long to think that everyone is simply still too stunned to react.   15. As far as I know, no one has determined that Uncontrolled REC is NOT rules legal. What you're proposing sounds like Damage over Time. Lucius Alexander There's nothing in the rule book that says a palindromedary can't play.
  16. I always thought that was the whole point to having BOD distinct from STUN - that you can be unconscious but not mortally wounded, or dying but active. I like what you're saying here - Stunning makes damage and wounds "mean something" unlike "I still got hit points, so I'm still 100% effective" while also avoiding the death spiral scenario of "I took damage, now I'm less effective and will inevitably take more damage and get less effective and so on until I'm dead."
