  1. Re: How to do a weapon that has a free trip attack? The strange thing is it's easier to make an attack that automatically trips an opponent. On that note the easiest way mechanically to do it is to buy a target falls maneuver for 3 points and buy it with the weapon focus and link the maneuver to the attack power. Ugly but it'll do the job rules wise.
  2. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Yes but they could have looked at Lobo's write up and gone, gee Wolvie can't beat him in a strait fight so hows he gonna beat him? I can accept that because of the vote he's gonna win, but make it believable. That was my main complaint about the Wonderwoman vrs Storm fight as well.
  3. Re: "Cloak"ing Device If you don't want it to be abused just make the useable on others require the target to be a 0DCV so yes she can drop a villan in wherever but only after he's already disabled and captured anyways.
  4. Re: Disadvantage Question [FMA Spoilers] actually I think it would be a Social limitation combined with a hunted. Technically they'd just by all thier alchemy powers not needing a circle and have the social and hunted kick in whenever they show off the fact they don't need a circle.
  5. Re: What does a SuperTeam need? For a group the types of skills that will generally show up in any medium to large super hero team: Criminology and Forensics Major sciences Medicine As far as technology goes almost any major hero team will have at least some access to high tech gear past the norm for the rest of the world. As far as dynamics it's really better if you let the PCs handle them as group dynamics can change and it's really better if the PCs come up with it on thier own. As for what you need consider this the base checklist for creating a super team. Things needed a Brick a Science based character(Power armor, Gadgetteer...) Someone to bankroll the group Transportation for the group Base Almost everything else is negotiable, and you can get almost all of what I listed with one character if you built them right. As far as heroic abilities let everyone go thier own way and you'll probably see all of the major super powers that a hero team will need as long as everyone doesn't play the same 2-3 archetypes. Other than that tell your PCs you want them to make a team, you'd be suprised at just what crazy ideas other people will come up with on thier own for making a team.
  6. Re: No Range + AE Me I'd just handwave it and say you always hit your own hex.
  7. Re: Global Guardians Campaign Opening (PBEM) Any one else having issues getting mail through, I have tried from 2 diffenet mail accounts and nothing gets through.
  8. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever There were 2 fights in the Marvel vrs DC crossover that I hated. The fight between Wonderwoman and Storm and the fight betweenWolverine and Lobo. For the Fight between WW and storm I can get behind the opinion that Storm could win, it's the execution that I hated. Wonderwoman grabbed Storm, that should have spelled doom for Storm... Let's see Super strength of god like proportions, check. Skilled in all forms of greek combat (like wrestling and pankration) check. For the Wolvie vrs Lobo fight All i gotta say is that Lobo hold his own against people like Vril Dox, Captain Marvel and Superman. No way the Kanuckle head could take him.
  9. Re: Magnetism: Abuse And Super Metals More than likely yes any small metal object connected to fabric will most likely tear itself off if subjected to super strength TK. The only article of clothing I can see that would be troublesome would be steel toed boots st they are useally quite sturdy and you'd more or less be lifting them up by thier feet. As far as super metals I'd assume they were all magnetic with the exception of Destrium and ... (can't remmber the other material) Of course some armor will be made of plastics or ceramics and he won't be able to do sqaut to them..
  10. Re: Justice League Avengers, Assemble! Canary (Black Canary + Wasp) Dinah Van Dyke grew up in the worlds uper crust, completly unaware that the fortune that her mother enjoyed was almost entirely earned as the adventurer and sometimes super heroine Black Canary. In her early twenties she toured the lab run by one Dr Stein. There she was exposed to what are commonly called Stein particles which allow her to shrink herself down to the size of a small songbird. Also while shrunk her voice is capable of reaching increadable hypersonic ranges giving her a "Canary's cry". Wirh the help of Hank Stein and later Anthony Wayne a succsession of Canary costumes with built in features were used by her to fight crime.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... During the game one of the PCs (A man from the deep south with a Big Guy style powered armor) was taking sugestions for his super hero name (having just finished his powered armor in the last session) and there were suggestions all around then my wife breaks in with a southern drawl "but those names aren't redneck enough." It took about 3 minutes for any of us to say anything.
  12. Re: Costs END Only to Activate Snapdragon my Shapeshifting martial artist would have to pay about 30 end per turn to run her shapeshift, but it does require her to exert herself to make the change. So the +1/4 (Costs END Only to Activate) advantage is about right. As far as things like density increase and growth go there are lots of problem that go with using these powers that can offset the lack of end cost. I remmeber a GM who had 5 VIPER agents all make called shots on a character with several levels of growth and have them all hit, it was really kinda funny what happened to the guy (BTW the guy was a giant robot suit bought with growth and a bunchof other stuff who lost his Primary movement power, primary offensive system and his radar.
  13. Re: WWYCD: I, The Jury Snapdragon is not a great dectetive but has one on the team that she would sick on the problem. After that depnding on information she would in order of what she would most like to do. 1: Go to the vigilante's house and stop them before they even go out 2: Find the next target, warn them and take thier place (shapeshift is very useful) and try to convince the vigilante to stop, and fighting if she has to. 3: Get the fast members of the team to start patroling and assigning one member each to each of the three people to follow them and see if one is acting suspicous
  14. Re: Need Help with Scenario ASAP! even with the resonance chambers the white noise would have started in the center and worked outward, fast thinking/detail orriented supers can probably cut the search area into something resonable that they can actually search for the villans lair.
  15. Re: [Character] White Phoenix - Ninja Hero/Teen Champions Using a multi form is really best when your character really changes. If the same personality lives there and the same limitations apply it's probably better to do the OHID. Looks fine to me and I wouldn't have an issue with alowing the character in one of my campains.
  16. Re: Red Monika - Valdorian Age Thief and Swordswoman ACtually I'd allow the DF if for the simple fact that every time she would try to lay low there would be drunks hitting on her, men asking her if she wants to getr a drink. Also as a thief there the problem that even if they don't see her face the DF would kick in about that very hot red headed thief that was seen running from the scene of a robery
  17. Re: Sex and the Single Superhuman Snapdragon is sixteen and has been out on a few dates, all of which are "nice smart and one day successful chineese boys" picked by her parents who she can barely stand normally. Quantum is currently ina very awkward position as the woman he had a good relationship with in the slightly quantum shifted universe he came from is currently dating someone else and he's led a rather sheltered life so no other options have arisen for him yet. Heaven's sword is 19 and far to shy for someone who is reputed to be one of the most dangerous martial artists in the world. It doesn't help that of the women in the group he's with have a low end COM of 18 and a high end 26-28. He's just lucky that none of them have hit on him.
  18. Re: Martial Arts Campaign Creation - Need Help One idea is to build the forte then build the style to go with it, I ran a game that borrowed from Natsuki Crisis and Oriental Heroes and the six players I had ended up beign very divergent. I'll give a brief description of the styles they used and how they might apply to the fortes you listed. (most of the names have been lost to memory but the character concepts are clear for 5 of them, although 1 was very very unispired when we were playing) One utilized Golden Armor and grappling and was very agressive yet his big thing was the fact that he was the toughest person to hurt in the group. One utilized a style he dubbed Serene Mountain. The character was built like a Sume wrestler but his style was actually very elegant with the best names of the manuevers. (He had, Avalanche, falling rock, buired alive, you cannot hurt stone and deceptive stillness(anyone think they can figure out what the 4ed/5ed moves are) Annother had Denku-te (literally Lightning hands) which was all speed and damage. Lastly was the "ninja" of the group who was all about tactics and deception in battle, can't remember the much more at the moment. The point is let them start designing whatever thier matrial arts schtick is and let them run with it, alot of it will take care of itself as long as they stick within thier concept
  19. Re: Original Supervillain Groups -- Get Creative! For the short lived teen champions game I started to run I had just introduced the Material Girls. They were an all female team similar to Grab from the CU. The members: Titanium Girl Powered armor and leader of the group Rubber Stretching martial artist Flint Mystical brick/energy projector Freon Ice based Energy projector
  20. Re: Sci-fi wear swords? Actually Capoera is famed for the ability to fight while being manacled or handcuffed.
  21. Re: Sci-fi wear swords? Lets see reason to use HTH weapons in SCi Fi. 1. No holes in the ship/station. 2. Harder to trace/hear. 3. Technology renders firearms partially or fully useless. 4. Noble tradition to carry HTH weapon. 5. Ammo whats that? 6. HTH weapon is also specialty tool. (hull cutter)
  22. Re: Sci-fi wear swords? For close quarters one of the best styles is Wing Chun. A friend of mine described it as "a martial art designed to be fought by two people in a phone booth." Anything that relies on spinning kicks or stepping kicks is right out in close quarters.
  23. Re: WWYCD: The "Mars Needs Women" Senerio... Snapdragon Both would be causing problems for her and she would be livid. She would probably end up acting as bait once someone figured out a pattern. Quantum Would catch the lot of them and then introduce them to Artemis' people who have the technology to clone the aliens, probably even clone wpmen who aren't sterile. Heavens sword Would be fighting the overt ones, not much in the way of subtle investigation skills. However when annother member of the team finds them he'll be right in the thick of things.
  24. Re: WWYCD: "There are those who believe..." Snapdragon "This is the earth exploriroy vessel _______, we are on an exploritory flight, have we violated your sovern space?" Assuming that Battlestar Galactica(the TV show) happened in the universe she's from she'll play it close to the chest and recomend that everyone on the crew of the ship does the same thing.
