Barton reacted to Crossfire in Douglas DC-2 or DC-3 Plans?
Hi everyone - running a Justice Inc. (Pulp Hero for the new school) campaign called the Odyssey League on Roll20. Looking for a floorplan/tile map/interior of a DC-2 or DC-3 I can use for a scenario. I've got basic line drawings already I can move tokens around on but using a nice colour map or line drawing with some added details would be ideal. If anyone has spotted on before please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I have seen many photos and films of the Bocage area. -6 to sighting rolls is IMHO is low. I would do -8 unless on the actual top of the earthen mound then lower it to -4. The Bocage is very hard to see through, and hard even for people to move through [movement penality]. Remember the roads and fields are sunken.
German troops learned quickly to pre-register mortars to fire at crossroads to force troops away from using the sunken roads.

It has to do with a misunderstanding of the duel.  That's all the showdowns in the streets were, the old fashioned duel.  You know, pistols at dawn, seconds setting up the conditions, etc.  That's what the showdown was, and the whole "don't draw first, etc" thing came from confusion about how that worked.  And by the classic wild west period, the Code Duello was kind of over with, although the concepts of honor and how to deal with each other were real.

I mean, there were still real psychos out there who'd do anything without any rules but most people were pretty lawful and were disliked or shunned if they broke the unwritten codes.  One of the biggest mistakes of modern man is to impose our worldview on the past.

Well, it's not the nice big clear one I was looking for, but it's a smaller lo-rez copy of it.

At any rate, this was something I found invaluable when we played lots of westerns, especially when the party travelled around a lot.

Well, for one, you’ll want to go through the current (updated) documentation.  Print to PDF functionality was removed a few months back due to required third party libraries that were incompatible with current Java versions.

you’ll want to use the standard export process with the character sheet format
    of your choice.

When we first started playing HERO, we played a Champions game at a local con run by Barton. He used Heroclix figures and all of his character sheets included pictures of the actual figure.

It made playing the game much easier, especially since we were new and my three kids were playing.

The supplements don't always follow the rules.

And DCV won't have access to those Modifiers no matter where you buy it -- they're not valid for Characteristic Powers under the RAW, which is what HD follows.

Barton reacted to Jhamin in Teen Champions Supervillains
Inspired 100% by Ninja-Bear a few posts up, A pair of "villains" showed up in my last few Teen Champions sessions: "Mista Finsta" and "The GOAT" (Greatest Of All Time).
They are a pair of 15 year old mutants that are using their powers to become internet stars.  They are social media influencer wannabes that are committing very splashy crimes and posting them online for the attention.  They haven't taken anything expensive and no one has gotten hurt (yet) so they are low on the authorities priority lists, but their antics have spilled over into the personal lives of my PCs.
Mista Finsta is a teen-hero level speedster with some social media skills, and is honestly the brains of the operation, but is totally over-awed by his partner
The GOAT (not Goat, The GOAT!) believes he is the best at everything he does, and his powers have even fooled him into thinking that's true.

Mista Finsta is a pretty generic speedster and I'm basically re-using El Salto's stats from the 5th edition Ultimate Speedster with all powers being "Speed" themed, dropping the Skill Levels (a no-no for most Teens), a couple DCs and with a few other numbers tweaked.
Here are my stats for The GOAT

Background: Izan like to maintain an image as a hardcore, street smart, man of action.  In actuality, he grew up in a posh suburb of Horizen city with his middle class parents and 2 younger sisters.  Already obsessed with the personas and lifestyles of Online Influencers, he now feels like it's his obvious route to the money and fame that will inevitably follow his physical and mental "perfection".  He quickly made friends with another aspiring Teen internet personality in the person of Mista Finsta and the two of them are sure that the next stunt will be the one that makes them go Viral!

Personality: Ivan feels like the development of his powers was the day his ship came in.  He truly believes that he is in fact the best at everything.  Compared to most people his age, he is and he has never really thought through the implications of his abilities.  When encountering Teen Heroes he will present himself as totally out-classing them.  Initially, it will look like he does.  He is in deep denial that this powers only allow himself to be good at some things part of the time and that even at his best he can't compete with top tier superhumans.  So far he has only tangled with normals and other teens like himself and tends to spout off whenever he runs into someone known for prodigious physical ability.  If attacked in multiple ways (like someone testing his ED while he is focusing on Speed and Power) he will complain bitterly of cheating and retreat rather than deal with "whiners"
It isn't so much that he is greedy for wealth or fame, he just assumes they are the next thing on the plate for him now that he is the the most perfect specimen of Man there is.  The world won't deny him for long.  Ivan isn't a murderer, and isn't even particularly cruel, but his raging egomania tends to make him hard to be around.

Quote: "I know people think you are something, and you probably even think so too, but *I'm* THE GOAT and I'll be showing you your place!

Powers: Izan has the ability to boost his physical attributes to superhuman level. He can be strong and bulletproof, or fast and smart, or strong and smart, but cannot keep more than a couple of his attributes raised at any given time.  Mechanically, he can keep three slots in his multipower running at a time and shifts them frequently to give him the ability to make whatever flashy display he wants.  In a Teen Hero setting, his boosted abilities should match or exceed most Teen Heroes who emphasize them.  (Teen Hero Bricks tend to top out at around 40 STR, and he goes to 50 for example).  Initially, it really should seem like he can out-perform everyone.
His stat-boosting is an instinctive action on Ivan's part and he isn't fully aware he is doing it.  He just knows when he wants to be strong, he is, and when he wants to outrun someone, he can.  If he knows himself to be in danger he even instinctively aborts to turning on his resistant defenses.
So far, Izan has rationalized away the times he has been caught with Multipower set incorrectly to deal with a situation.  He truly believes others were cheating or that he didn't care enough about something to try.   When the day comes that he challenges someone that just plain outclasses him in an obvious way his world view will shatter (assuming he survives)

They apply to one and only one Skill, defined at purchase.

As for why not just purchase levels on the Skill, you can...unless you want to apply modifiers of some sort (which is the point to the SL).  Flip the argument on its head for what would happen if you could apply 2 point skill levels to any skill or even a related group of skills -- why would you ever buy levels on the skills themselves?

Barton reacted to Simon in HERO System 6th Edition Rules Questions: Heads Up
Just a quick heads-up for folks:  the rules questions forum has been changed a bit, given Steve's schedule and general lack of time to jump in and answer questions these days.

The forum is now an open question and answer forum.  Threads should stick to similar themes as previously (rules questions pertaining to 6E).  Anyone can respond now...and folks can vote/rate answers.  The highest rated answer is listed first...and the original poster can select a best-answer (which will be pinned to the top of the list).

I'm treating this as something of an experiment for now -- we'll see how it works over time and adjust as needed.

    1) handouts - I have found and created some handouts designed to be short and give high level BUT important player info.
    2) pregenerated characters - if at convention use these, you will be familiar with them, make sure they have common powers and complications to illustrate game elements
    3) danger room - IMHO a good way to show off powers/complications in Champions
    4) hero designer software for the the GM - it easily makes characters and save you a LOT of time
    5) explain 3d6 - explain the bell shaped curve and why you want/when to  roll low and low high
    6) show quick and easy way to count body - group the dice by 1's; 6's, and all others. Then 1 and 6 cancel out, any excess either way adjust the body amount = normal damage dice.
    7) show special effects - complication -> double damage to heat; great way to show a blast is blast; BUT not always depends on SFX.
    8) show players it is easy for them, harder for GM - Show them that playing [by actually playing] is easy; the GM must know a lot more than players. The point is once have a GM who has experience, the players need to know a lot less.
