  1. I don't think that, "Football" as a martial art made it past 4e.
  2. The energy's gotta come from somewhere. I'm guessing that would reduce the velocity of the plasma and, therefore, the thrust.
  3. Your argument is ignoring a few relevant points. 9d6 Mind Control is 45 points. The game mechanics may be simple, but it is a very powerful spell, butting up against (or exceeding) heroic campaign limits. Fighters may have access to constructs the mage does not (pushing, haymaker, martial arts, etc). Depending on how the magic system is designed, the mage may not have access to all of their spells simultaneously. My Vancian system, while it uses a Multipower, still requires wizards to memorize their spells in advance and restricts how many spells can be memorized at once. Charm Person (the above-described Mind Control) would take an hour to memorize and take up a substantial portion of most caster's spell pool.
  4. Naked Advantages can't be in a framework without GM permission.
  5. Multipowers are a point-efficient way to have a lot of powers, if you don't mind only being able to use one at a time. If this doesn't suit your magic system, don't use them.
  6. By default, characters weigh 100 kg and require 10 STR to lift. Growth, Density Increase, some SFX of Knockback Resistance, and some Physical Limitations may affect this.
  7. Perhaps something like 2-Gun Action Challenge, only with blasters.
  8. I think a loincloth is technically, "outerwear" (like swimming trunks).
  9. I came across some in-period guidelines about handling sex/nudity. Editorial guidelines from Spicy Detective magazine, 1935
  10. I think 300/60 is a good level, especially for new players. It's enough points to build the core of most concepts, but the players will need to focus on what's important to them.
  11. There are two major arguments against a lab release. A bioweapon would have been developed from a known infectious agent, rather than a random virus. If the virus had been studied in a lab, there would be research material on it (at least raw data). The lack of such material indicates that the virus was not from a lab.
  12. The Real Reason to Wear A Mask (TL;DR: It's to protect others in case you have an asymptomatic infection.)
  13. Yes. "Intangibility" is a common SFX of Desolid, but nothing in the rules requires it.
  14. The thagomizer was named by Larson. (As a side note, my spell checker recognizes, "thagomizer" but not, "Thag.")
  15. My Black Ocean setting followed this model. There was the Inner Sphere (civilization), the Outer Sphere (frontier), and the Far Sphere (unexplored/unclaimed lands). Travel between the spheres was complicated, because the aether in each sphere rotated in different directions, creating zones of turbulence.
  16. Depending on the campaign, you might want to redefine, "dying." The rest of the characters might have to go on a resurrection quest (accompanied by the spirit of the dead character). The character might be captured and need rescuing, or otherwise out of action for an extended period of time.
  17. Any characteristic roll should get bonuses or penalties based on its difficulty. However, it is unfair (as a GM) to surprise the characters with a roll made at an arbitrary penalty.
  18. This raises the question, could a character use Flight to alter the direction of their Knockback? For example, instead of being Knocked Back 10m into the corner of a building, the character alters their trajectory to miss the building completely.
  19. If I was going this route, I might describe the character as, "looking invulnerable" rather than desolid. As far as builds go, it's not a bad model. The character would be unaffected by damage, except for one SFX (which fits the source material reasonably well). The flaw is that the character would also be affected by powers that are specifically bought with, "Affects Desolid," which does not fit.
  20. I now have branded (corporate logos and everything) masks to wear at work, for whatever that's worth.
  21. The greatest F1 driver to never win a championship
  22. As a side note, you can still use Boot Camp to dual-boot and run Windows games.
  23. I think that Holding an Action is at least somewhat analogous. You can't use a Held Action to take two actions in one phase, so you shouldn't be able to use Cover to get two actions either.
