Bloodstone
Re: "Neat" Pictures "What can be inferred about the mind of the Creator from the works of His Creation?" "An inordinate fondness for the Beatles." I'm wondering if there is any significance to the insects chose to represent them. John looks to be a potato beetle... Ringo has a huge schnoz, so the rhinoceros beetle makes sense. I'm not sure why Paul McCartney is a stag beetle. The dude's been married like 5 times! George is... a dung beetle... okay, hopefully they were all just chosen for color

Although, it looks like there are only like four mammals on the thing. http://www.zo.utexas.edu/faculty/antisense/tree.pdf And that was the more detailed version. gewing
Re: "Neat" Pictures IIRC' date=' the area where Washington was built was a malarial swamp before the city was constructed, and much of the surrounding area remained swampland for the next several decades. Washington was a non-desirable destination during that time and being there was considered bad for the health. The only reason it was constructed in the first place was that the Constitution specified a new city be built to be the capital. The apparent reason was so that it would be a place where Northerners and Southerners would both be "at home". Before the major public buildings were constructed the government ran from other cities, first New York and then Philadelphia. John Adams was the first President who had to move to Washington and he was not at all happy about living there.[/quote'] iirc it was a hazardous duty station for military intil around 1908...
