It's broadly implied here that Haley hasn't been keeping her Search maxed, and, as a result, can't do her roguelike duties. Because, of course, there's been no reason for her to put skill points in "Search" when she can spend them on other skills that make her more effective in attaining her goals. Team goals versus individual is the theme here. Now skip ahead thirteen cartoons. This is more than enough time for Haley to gain a level and drop some points into Search. Now she can find the traps for the team. And because she finds the trap, the team misplaces V., who is thus not available to them in battle. As V would surely point out, she's by far the most powerful asset they have right now. The team needs V. Look what happened to it when it tried to go ahead without her last time, in the star metal sidequest! And, of course, the reason that V is unavailable comes back to V's failure to be a team player.
