Well, it's been a tough couple of years but with new organization, increased resources, and the decision to be more pro-active, the heroes of the Champion Universe have performed a MASSIVE clean-up.

 

Doctor Destroyer: passed away from a heart attack (dude was plenty old) and the body was confirmed down to the DNA and dental records.

 

VIPER: the Supreme Serpent was captured after UNTIL and PRIMUS found the main nest. Other nests are still out there but they are fractured, disorganized, and fighting among themselves for resources, and the right to be considered the true VIPER.

 

DEMON: according to Lady Silver (my character) and her Wards, the problem has been taken care of- i.e. the head guy was slain.

 

Warlord: slain in combat by US forces when he tried to set up his own little kingdom in Iraq.

 

Eurostar: most of the members, including Fiacho, were captured after a bloody battle between them, UNTIL's team, and Euroguard.

 

and on and on. There are villians still out there of course: no knows where Menton or Telios are, the Ultimates are still causing problems, etc... but alot of the heavyweights and uber dangerous criminals are either dead or incarcerated. Speaking of being imprisoned, most supervillians are now imprisoned in Stronghold 2.0 and it (so far) seems very secure (and for the amount of money put into it, it had BETTER be!).

 

From a mystical note, Skarn, Tyrannon, and the empress of a billion dimensions have settled into a cold war and are too busy to deal with Earth right now. Also, Skarn has a treaty of sorts with Earth (it's a long story) where he's hands off.

 

So, with things so quiet that your heroes are being called in less and less to deal with the big supervillian threats, WWYCD?

Dolphin keeps telling anyone who would listen that he's not a superhero; he's a marine biologist whose friends keep getting razzled by supervillians. With fewer villians, he'll have to spend less time helping his friends deal with them, and more time with his friends who live in the ocean.

 

Cheeta will continue patroling, stop street crime where he can.

 

Iron Will still wants to be America's first differently-abled astronaut.

Blackberry would go back to being a minor celebrity and philanthropist. She'd be tickled pink at the notion that there would be fewer mean people roaming around.

Ace is a private detective anyway; cheating spouses and runaway teens aren't a problem that's going away.

 

Holocaust would be depressed. She's a mathematical genius, sure, but she secretly liked being a superhero - it made her feel good about herself, which is something she has a hard time doing, most days.

 

Cat most fought street gangs and corrupt cops - again, not a worry of those fading away.

 

Terminaxx would be out there hunting down the last of the troublemakers.

Ashley could take up his old villain mantle to keep the heroes of Meillinium City sharp. He would even team up with Fox bat if need be (maybe that luck will rub off on him). He wouldn't be as nasty, just a pest that is deadly enough to make sure heroes took him seriously.

Nightengale: Street level crime never really changes, so not much would change for her.

 

Plastron: Concentrate on graduating from High School. Go to MIT for bio-physics.

Rock Bottom: Finish his college education, deal with regular crime in Baltimore.

 

Calculus: Develop elaborate plans to deal with any major supervillains that might pop up later. Enjoy some quality time with his wife and son. Keep gathering data so that he'll be alerted well ahead of everyone else when disaster strikes.

 

Kira Midori: There's always regular police work, and looking for a way to return to her own timeline.

 

Talion: Fade even further into obscurity. If there are any active villains, they'll find him in due time.

 

Mask of Justice: Celebrate V-J Day with everyone else, start concentrating on ordinary organized crime again.

Galaxy Girl: Start working on a way to get home!

 

Void: Work on the smaller-scale crime. Dominic would shift more towards equal rights for mutants... but it wouldn't be too long before Void started thinking it all *had* to be a trick, especially if the Purity League was still around. He'd be constantly looking for any sign that the Big Baddies were just faking.

 

Huntress: Much the same. On the one hand, she'd love to get back to her work. On the other hand, her paranoiac jags would encourage her to think that this was all part of somebody's grand scheme, and to look for what it is - after all, she's a smart girl, she ought to be able to figure it out....

 

Outsider: Would probably have a quiet nervous breakdown - he's just become one of the biggest threats in the world himself, particularly since DEMON was taken down.

 

Dough Boy: Back to the bakery... maybe start going out with Jenny... but keep his gear in good shape.

 

After all, like a fallen loaf, evil can always rise again....

Terminus is mostly after a bunch of criminals from his home dimension. If he got them, he'd probably start looking for a way home.

 

But he'd stay with The Edge until he managed it. Most of their work revolves around more down-to-earth stuff anyway.

Badger- go insane with boredom. Gotten to the point where he is addicted to fighting. He can train, I guess. But, eventually he will want to fight SOMETHING. If his archnemesis is one of the ones still out there laying low, will go on a disturbingly obsessive search.

Vitus would use the break from daily dimensional incursions, Cthuloid Elder Gods, and supervillain attacks, to perfect various ways to make Earthly civilisation more just. (after all, he doesn't have a home universe to go back too anymore and if he's stuck in this miserable hole he may as well do something to make it morebearable ) For example, Vitus's Conjuration of Global Justice, aka Summon Gonads, instantly emasculates every rapist on the planet. Some cauterisation will be involved.

 

Truman would just go back to collecting 50's Americana, and insider-trading on the stock market.

Physician - realizes that the human race needs balance and examples to focus their goals and ambitions. He would use his reality-manipulating powers to secretly create supervillians to restore the necessary struggle.

Anthem wasn't much about the big threats to begin with. She's much more of a street level fighter. So she'd continue to catch anything from purse snatchers up to street kingpins.

 

Uncle Slam might take a vacation. His first in about 30 years.

Plex1- Go on the comedy circuit, perhaps make some movies, marry the long standing GF and have kids.

 

Plex2- Probably become his brothers' manager. Start living his life for himself.

Cyrande: Work on uplifting Earth, dealing with politicians and figuring out Earth culture to. Maybe be a bit busy with romantic entanglements.

 

Artemis: Well, given that for such, her love(Master General on the opposite side... yeah, it's awkward) would either be a. dead or b. convinced that Thera doesn't need to die, she'd either be married to him, and hopefully pregnant as she works toward melding more with Nature... or mourning, working with the Winter King to increase her powers and perception, and only dealing with her other friends on a "The world is ending" basis.

 

Nox(Just got a chance, to play her in another game): Well, given what her usual haunts are, is likely to keep working on just making a positive influence and dealing with demons and the like who want to slip through. Really, she has enough to keep her busy for centuries.. hmm, maybe she should accept that immortality.. ah, something else to consider.

Ivy: Return to research more but maintain her superheroic ties just in case. She'd be glad for more time to spend with her children and less worry she'd end up leaving them

 

Eve would be incredibly happy to have more time to play and have fun with her family without worry about them.

 

Tao would continue to patrol and train. Combat is her purpose and there will always be more. If things becaome too quiet she might request to placed back into stasis until she was needed.

 

Velocity, secret adrenaline junkie that she is would be restless and horribly bored and probably turn more to dealing with street crime to alleviate that.

The Specter - Will do his happy dance when he hears that Herr Zerstoiten is dead. He will attempt to move his focus onto what he considers to be more important issues, such as the drug trade. He will also try to keep Vitas from trying to impose his sense of justice upon the world, dispite how much it reminds him of the good old days when a man was hung for stealing a horse.

 

Whisper - would at first be distraut, as his primary food source is dissapearing. Then, he'll perk up. Sure, he'll begin to starve for a while, growing weaker while wracked with pain. But Bethany would never let Mister Whisper die, so she would start looking for people who "deserve" to have their souls devoured by a shadow demon. And that will begin the slippery slide into the corruption of this world paragon of innocence. This will make Whisper extremely happy, well worth the pain and starvation. Especially if he can taunt some of the greatest heroes of the world with the fact that their tireless dedication to their jobs has, in fact, brought their entire world closer to eternal damnation.

Phidippus likely wouldn't quit until the job was done, completely. With the heavy hitters out of action, he'd probably slip more into detective mode to root out the remaining baddies, especially those remnants of VIPER (a very personal mission for him) and Hornet and his cronies (even more personal) if they're still active. His "normal" ID is the superhero, so he'd be hard-pressed to change his spots completely. Plus, there will probably always be muggers, bank robbers, and natural disasters to deal with. Phidippus is fairly powerful, but he's definitely got a "street-level" attitude and approach to crimefighting when left to his own devices.

 

Still, when you've got 8 eyes, 6 hands and barely need sleep, that potentially leaves a lot of free time to kill (depending on how thoroughly evil's been whomped). Phidippus is nothing if not a multitasker, so he'd likely pursue a lot of options:

 

- dive into more scientific research (eg. finding a cure for CCD if he hasn't already - thanks for the inspiration, McCoy!)

 

- he'd be able to get more work done in his secret ID (though I won't say what, in case Saiyanslayer sees this); probably enough to utterly dominate the field. Let's just say he's got a PS at 19+, and can do it at a full step down the time scale with no penalties.

 

- use his good rep (probably even better, under these circumstances) to do more socially-active stuff, like raising awareness for charities. He'd want to help the world however he could, even if there was no one left to throw in jail.

 

- maybe develop a little more of a life. He sticks to superheroics out of a desire to do good, so his personal life is rather stunted. With enough free time, he might perhaps even (gasp) try out dating! (The extra hands and an unearthly contortionist skill might help out there... )

 

- take to scouting and training the next generation. Just because things are great now is no reason to slack off - things might not stay that way! Eternal vigilance and all that jazz.

 

- start a rock band. What's the point in having 6 arms, the ability to use them all at once with independent tasks, and the skill as a guitarist to make Joe Satriani blush (and Jimi spin in his grave) if you can't use them? Lead, rythmn, and bass all at once!

Rock out by night, fight street crime by later night!
