  1. So, this year Shaq and Stef Curry win Oscars for a documentary about hall of famer Louisa Harris amd LeBron James 'wins' a Razzie for Space Jam... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/shaquille-o-neal-wins-academy-025113603.html https://sports.yahoo.com/le-bron-james-wins-razzie-awards-for-worst-actor-on-screen-couple-in-space-jam-a-new-legacy-163731330.html
  2. NGL, that sounds a lot more like a 3e kind of thing to me.
  3. BATTLEBOTS (Discovery) has completed its 'regular season' or qualifying rounds and begins its championship tournament next episode. This is the 6th season since the reboot and the new crop of bots is more deadly than ever. The field of 32 is mostly set with two play in matches to determine the 31st and 32nd seeds. Two rookie bots have run the table and made the tournament, one a true rookie crew from Berkeley feature a stealth fighter looking design with omni wheels and an egg beater style spinning weapon. The other is a veteran builder with a completely new weapon concept: a flywheel based flipping mechanism. Hopefully next year will be less affected by Covid so more of the international teams can join.
  4. You must not be watching the Warriors then.
  5. Day 47 and the hostage situation is finally resolved.
  6. They're not sending us their best. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
  7. Some decades ago, I worked out a conversion of BattleTech to Car Wars where the light weapons of mechs could be mounted on cars so a BT Machinegun would be the equivalent of a VMG in Car Wars and a BT Light Laser would be the equivalent of CW Laser. (1 pt of damage in BattleTech was roughly equivalent to 1d6 Car Wars damage) The notion of the bigger BattleTech weapon being mounted on cars seemed pretty preposterous, given that most of them weighed more than a car. Then Autoduel Champions came out...
  8. Apparently they always put whatever state you're in at the end of the headline, but to cut to the chase, the worst rated ballpark is in Florida. Day 41 and the updates just keep getting funnier.
  9. Aaron Rodgers has natural immunity to beating the 49ers in the playoffs.
  10. So these women bought a vitamix and brought the box into the kitchen. Before they could open it, one of their cats claimed it as their territory and since then, they have not been able to get into the box. They posted numerous pictures of the box and its kitty overlords and eventually asked the manufacturer to send some empty boxes to try to deke the cats into claiming the false boxes, but they did not anticipate how much their cats weighed... https://www.npr.org/2022/01/14/1072812001/cat-vitamix-blender-box-standoff
  11. All vocals done by the same guy, albeit with voice changing software.
  12. A catgirl I played in champions. the gun is copied from Unreal Tournament. I was playing that a lot back in the day. Speaking of which, here she is as a UT model.
  13. I'm glad they are playing it as safe as possible. I don't want DDC to be known as a superspreader event like that NYC Anime Con.
  14. An undead creature possesses the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature’s entry). No Constitution score. Undead use their Charisma score in place of their Constitution score when calculating hit points, Fortitude saves, and any special ability that relies on Constitution (such as when calculating a breath weapon’s DC). Darkvision 60 feet. Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms). Immunity to death effects, disease, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning. Not subject to nonlethal damage, ability drain, or energy drain. Immune to damage to its physical ability scores (Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength), as well as to exhaustion and fatigue effects. Cannot heal damage on its own if it has no Intelligence score, although it can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. The fast healing special quality works regardless of the creature’s Intelligence score. Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless). Not at risk of death from massive damage, but is immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points. Not affected by raise dead and reincarnate spells or abilities. Resurrection and true resurrection can affect undead creatures. These spells turn undead creatures back into the living creatures they were before becoming undead. Proficient with its natural weapons, all simple weapons, and any weapons mentioned in its entry. Proficient with whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) it is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types. Undead not indicated as wearing armor are not proficient with armor. Undead are proficient with shields if they are proficient with any form of armor. Undead do not breathe, eat, or sleep.
  15. Probably going to want to invest in some skills to aid in playing the 'face' role. Acting helps, Conversation, Oratory and others might also be valuable. Crowd control powers can serve to help to convey the injured to safety or keep innocent bystanders clear from danger. Alternately, you can build powers based on the power of the people. If you can rally the crowd, then you can harness their belief to bolster your powers and defeat evil with the Power Of Love (tm) or Friendship or whatever theme you're aiming for. There is a long tradition of heroes of various genres needing the support of the crowd in order to summon the strength to defeat their foes in live shows, so extending this to an idol character seems like a natural fit.
  16. In the last 2+ minutes of the 4th quarter of a tied game, the Packers miss 2 FG attempts and the Bengals miss one, then in OT, both teams miss another FG attempt each until finally with less than 2 minutes left in OT, the Packers finally end the game on a FG, ending a string of 5 missed FG attempts. There was no appreciable wind.
  17. Logan Webb's first playoff start was a masterpiece, going 7.2 on 92 pitches, allowing 5 hits and no runs with 10 Ks. Walker Buehler goes 6.1 on 99 pitches, allowing 6 hits, two of them HRs, 3 ER and 5Ks to take the L. Buster Posey launches a HR into the bay on a bounce in the bottom of the 1st with a runner on, Kris Bryant and Brandon Crawford add solo HRs to finish the scoring at 4-0.
  18. Cardinals go 0-11 with RISP and fall to the Dodgers. Here. We. Go.
  19. There is a nonzero chance that the two teams with the highest payrolls in the MLB might be one and done after the wildcard round and I'm all for it.
