Umm...NPG uses Cybermind to set of various high tech security systems to distract the cops and maybe the heros while they raid a source of high tech weapons or Mind Inc...set a patern to the false signals and let the dogs of justice loose!If the security systems controll weapons the persons in the buildings become hostages! Throw in a false trail to mechanon they can penitrate and so on....
  3. Retrocognition:Bloodline only? I have a character that is "imortal" as a personality that is continually being reborn...I went with the cheesey KS:past lives....after all after a while recalling a specific thing might get real hard...

One way to lower the cost is to put it in a sense group as some of the characteristics of that group then port over...so if you can "smell" trace elements smell is a sense is ranged and is 360(ish) so check fred as some of that "comes free" for boosting your snozz instead of creating a new sense and come on...how many smell flashes are you likely to see unless you fight Foxbat!
  5. I'm with the Lord...I'd go with Pres with a special effect of unearthly babness/dudness pres attacks are zero time actions and do graded effects so it should be pretty smooth...and the "in combat" mod makes sense to me...what though is a "violent action" for this effect? Doing a strip?
  6. Thanx to all...I was thinking enviromental movement based on the immune to intoxication example but I was thinking Life support so to stop a super speed spin/dizzy attack...but the Guru (steve) says power def so I guess I better go that way...

I'm still slowly converting over old characters to 5Th and with the extra points I can afford various "cool" powers that I always wanted and I'm stumped...I have Time twister speedster and I want him to be "Immune to becoming dizzy"...is this an aplication of Life support or an odd Environmental movement style effect? Either way it should be cheap as it is a flavor power that is unlikely to ever actually be used...Thanx
  8. Don't forget the "double bluff" sucker punch...i.e. I fake a punch to the groin and when you drop your hands I head-butt your nose out of existance....I'd say roll Per and base the level of suprise on that...maybe have analyze style as a complimentary...?
  9. I'm also an old grognard who thinks acid is a PD attack...I've always used RKA PEN for acid for that "What's eating you?" feeling I'd sertainly never argue if I saw it as a ED though....

Yep I'm on the same boat...Lock picking and climbing let you steal...PS:Theif lets you know how to be a theif...so you can find partners and crooked lawyers and fences...streetwise overlaps but That skill is actually finding a fence, Not how one does such things...so a honest PI might well have PS:Theif so he knows how to catch them. Simularly PS:Racing could be a NASCAR fan....PS:Acting, could be a "super fan"/stalker,etc...(or a roady/stage hand)

  13. This was off the cuff years ago, but the one time I can remember I took the penaltys for size and inverted them as a bonus to hit...ie: if growth gives -6DCV then take a +6 OCV with a move through..I don't think I'd give a bonus to move by though...?

Actually that makes it cooler for me I have an intuative feel that a buch o bumpkins who probibly could not hit the side of a barn can with volly fire hit far better as a group and a bunch of sharpshooters are better use as free firing marks men instead of in volly...so for at least some applications this is a very nice method...

Well I tend to like cinematic style action, so I go for AE:1 hex...besides that lets me hit multiple targets in the same hex (standing sholder to shoulder or wrasslin) so I'd probibly write me up a 2D6 RKA AE 1 hex,+2 stun,OAF, Reduced by range, Reduced Pen,Real gun/Beam effect and maybe 2 clips of 8 charges and call it my ninja buster 2000...

  17. Yep thats looks good...I used something asmost identical back in the olden days for fantasy hero...I called it "wild magic" for spells to dangerous to cast, but you know you want to!

  19. I almost always buy shotguns as AE:1 hex...if you need more just spread the attack,I usually buy +1 stun as well.Most of my gun toting chars use a shotgun as a back-up...aka "Look! a ninja!":)
  20. One of my favs for flame chars is E-attack:Trigger Leaving the hex you're in...the old "flame cage ploy"...
  21. Looks like I'm late to the party but heres what I've used in the past...There are two basic ways to build "Invulnrability" in champs, Damage reduction and Absorbtion. They are mirror images of each other, Damage reduction is pretty much "invulnrability" as it just plain ignores damage, and as an additional bonus it's efficiency increases with the power of incoming attacks (ie: it ignores more and more damage as the attack becomes more outrageous) its downfall is lot o' small attacks so you shrug off Omega-beams, but crumple from 10 agents with auto-fire. Absorb works just the opposite, lots of small attacks make you feel Better, but you can choke on too much energy at once,both are perfectly playable...if you Need gross use both but I for one would never go for it. Heres a "basic" version of a gross "Unkillable joe" Damage reduction 3/4 PDr and EDr...120 points,10D6 absorbion PD into Stun and BOD (+1/2) same for ED...150 points LS all chem and Bio...20points Total cost 290 points,so you have 60 points to build a cometant normal who can shrug off a 20D6 ARx2 killing attack. Good enough for me...

  24. Haven't had a chance to read the whole thread ...but I thought that if you paid points for a item you could just plain use it...of course if thats wrong 1 pt is easy enough to find...heck just lower your Stun pips by one...

Well for me sense minds is Passive and Mind scan is active...ie; Mind scan means my menally aware MA master knows whats up,but sense minds is stealthy...just me though...plus sense minds could be a special sense so it would work to target TK after I cut loose with a Flash vs mental sense for 15+D6......
