  1. Re: I Just Shoot Marvin In The Face WWYCD ain't no country I ever heard of.
  2. Re: Expanded Shazam power set question MANGOTA sounds better than yelling GOATMAN! (or BROTHL!). Try Native American, Incan, Aztec, Japanese, Chinese... Good background on many gods at pantheon.org
  3. Re: Dominos, mountains & small cars EB 1d6; OIF ("The Earth", Expendable, 1 Charge, Charge Does Not Recover)
  4. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. All wonderful. I think my favorite of the latest trio is Justice, but it's hard to pick one over the other.
  5. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Hero I was interviewed by All Games Considered, for their segment on "religion and gaming." I gave PAH a plug, for Darren's innovative setting of the historical apocalypse.
  6. Re: "Neat" Pictures Here's the caption I really enjoy for that one:
  7. Re: Help with disad I do it as a Hunted. 5 Hunted: Weirdness 8- (Less Pow, NCI, Mildly Punish)
  8. Re: Ideas for powers for child heroes... I played a hyperintelligent 8-year-old for a while. He had a superskill VPP, and the personality of (Pinky and's) The Brain. He had a large head that was prematurely balding. Come to think of it, he kind of looked like Family Guy's Stewie.
  9. Re: Hero System 3rd Party Products QuestionMan had it right. Kazei 5 will be 6th Edition.
  10. Re: Gestalt Podcast All Games Considered has also put out a podcast review of Gestalt. Check it out at http://www.agcpodcast.info -- episode #100. The Gestalt stuff starts roughly 10 minutes in, and goes for maybe 15 minutes or so. The woman who did the review actually bought a copy of Sidekick just to be able to review the book better.
  11. Re: Advice on how to gm 9 to 10 players in a Superhero campaign. My home group ranges from 8 to 12 players, depending on who shows up on a given week. We've been running at this size for years. On top of the large player base, on of the former heroes was a duplicator (with the duplicates being completely different, even DEX and SPDs), and one of the current players is a multiformer with five forms. Here's a column I wrote for Haymaker with a few tips on how to run large groups.
  12. Re: The Reason Behind Teleios I've always taken it that Teleios did the work in his sleep, once the assumptions of his conscious mind were no longer in his way.
  13. Re: Immunity to Electric Attacks It's even more fun when you buy it on your STR, and become immune to all physical attacks.
  14. Re: Surprisingly Effective Builds? 4d6 HA, +1 Variable Advantage Because of the way that HA damage stacking works, this innocuous 60-point power combined with a simple 20 STR can produce nearly any 120-point attack. 4d6 HA (8d6 with STR), Based on ECV - do more damage with a mental punch than the team mentalist can 4d6 HA (8d6 with STR), NND - outshine your blaster 4d6 HA (8d6 with STR), Autofire x5, Area Of Effect Accurate - punch anyone with a total of 40d6 4d6 HA (8d6 with STR), Double Knockback - knock enemies an average of 60 feet away, 100 feet on a good roll
  15. Re: Gestalt Podcast It's up now. It just went live about a half hour ago. http://atomicarray.com/gestalt-aa019 Be sure take advantage of the 25% off Gestalt sale, too!
  16. Re: What's in the moon? So the moon's interior has a Starbux?
  17. Scott Bennie will be interviewed about Gestalt on the March 27th episode of the Atomic Array podcast (http://www.atomicarray.com). Tune in to hear the exciting secrets from Gestalt's creator! Listen to his secret innermost thoughts! Learn to type with exclamation points! Gain vast cosmic power! Offer of cosmic power is void in certain dimensions, such as Earth's.
  18. Re: Immunity to Electric Attacks The total cheese way to do it: EB 1d6 (vs. ED: electrical), Variable Special Effects (any electrical effect, +1/4), Personal Immunity (+1/4)
  19. Re: What's in the moon? That's where the dinosaurs from the center of the Earth disappeared to. They've got a fully functional steamtech society inside the moon now, and will develop ether-ships to conquer the Earth soon.
  20. Re: Jokes HOW TO INSTALL A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM 1. Go to a secondhand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots. 2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine. 3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines. 4. Leave a note on your door that reads: Bubba, Big Jake, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer. Be back in an hour. Don't mess with the pit bulls - they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up bad. I don't think Killer took part, but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house. Better wait outside.
  21. Re: "Neat" Pictures Cool. I've been looking for a good walking stick.
  22. Re: Evaluation on an ability: Bounce Back I've used this build before, for speedsters and high-recoverers. It lets them recover "one level higher," and never caused a problem in the games I've played it in.
  23. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Remember when we used to use real citizens?
  24. Re: Your Gaming Group's Jargon "Assume leadership position" -- fall unconscious, from one of our characters who officially led the team, and almost always was knocked out by the end of the first phase.
