As many of you know DOJ INC - the parent company which owns Hero Games - has a logistics division that provides services to other companies. Its website is http://www.dojlogistics.com. One of the services we provide is the online sale of board, card, roleplaying games, and figurines on our client's behalf. As few if any of these products have any direct relation to the HERO System, we've set aside an exclusive section of our store for them. This forum has been created to allow us to announce when new products of this type become available. Feel free to aks questions, post reviews, and generally discuss these fine non-Hero products with others on the Discussion Boards.

Highly recommend by Jason and Tina! In “Who Would Win?” two players draw random character cards and turn up a random event card. Each player argues for 20 seconds as to why their character would win. The other players serve as the jury and vote on which player had the better argument. The first player to win 5 arguments wins the game. Some example possibilities: Ben Franklin vs. Barbie in a lion taming competition Mick Jagger vs. Pocahantas in a kayaking race Nelson Mandela vs. Sean Connery in a poker showdown George Bush vs. Peter Pan in a pie-eating contest This new Gorilla Games product can be purchased from the Hero Store here.

The most aptly named game ever! In this exceptionally silly and awesome card game, your objective is to win! Simple enough. Sadly, all of your opponents have the same simple goal, and they're trying to make you lose. Between Rock Paper Scissors battles, being eaten by a random Dragon, or saved by a Kitten Ambush, there are many hazards to avoid. Games last between 30 seconds and 5 minutes, and are lots of fun. Any number can play, though we recommend between 2 and 15. This product is available from the Hero Store here.

You’re way past glass beads and plastic chips for your gaming counters. You’re ready for something bold and striking, a counter that screams “yes, that’s my game information being tracked right there thank you very much!” Something that sparkles in the light like the beads of perspiration forming on your opponent’s brow as you brush aside their puny efforts aimed at defeating you and prepare to crush them once again.... Okay, you probably don’t take your CCG, CMG, or other gaming that seriously. And you probably haven’t given too much thought about the counters you use for your gaming. After all, your choices have been pretty limited until now. Introducing Cryst…

Way back in the day there was a Richard Garfield card game called Netrunner. I loved it, but found it difficult to find others to play it with. I've often reflected back fondly upon it over the years as one of my all time faves. Recently my nearly-7 son has gotten into card and board games. He started off with pokemon, but has matured past that and has wanted to play some more advanced games. He's precocious (I wont be so immodest as to imply it is due to him inheriting vast uncharted intelligence from a parent bearing both an X and a Y chromosome), and usually does reasonably well even on games rated 14+ with a little guidance on the trickier bits. We…

This is a two-player game that uses a checkerboard-style movement grid. In addition, each player has a large "village" spot on their side of the board that is connected to all four spaces in their back row. Players have seven regular "elf" pieces and one big "stone man" piece. (All pieces are glass beads or colored rocks.) The object of the game is to move all of your elves into your opponent's village. Players move one piece forward one spot on the diagonal matrix each turn. Two elves (one or two colors) may occupy a single space. If the stone man lands on an elf, it sends it back to the owner's village. The game components include a set of glass beads and po…

This free download contains the opening chapters of five books Blackwyrm published in the first half of 2009. BlackWyrm specializes in speculative fiction (fantasy, science fiction, and horror) by undiscovered talent. First up, comes The Vast White by Jason Walters, the first book in the Murderer’s Edge trilogy. This fantasy book is written in the form of military transcriptions, by an unwilling journalist with contempt for his audience and a gonzo mentality. Second is The Rainbow Connection by Ian Harac. An FBI agent finds a dead Munchkin in a suspect’s apartment, and must travel to the land of Oz to investigate. Oh, and people are trying to kill him, of course…

This is the first of twelve different works of experimental fiction scheduled for release by Blackwyrm in 2009. The Vast White is a dark military fantasy set in a world similar to – yet distinctively different from – our own. It was also written by yours truly and is the first of my Murderer’s Edge duology. Here’s what Harriett Klausner, Amazon’s #1 ranked reviewer, has to say about the book: In Northern al-Muttaqiina Mountains bordering on the Vast White in the Year of Ascension 327, the Sultanate and the Etrisian Empire prepare for war over who annexes the Spice Cities into their monarchy. Both sides covet Salt, the unconquered Spice City that neither has been ab…

Baour: Strands of Death is a fantasy courtroom novel by European RPG critic Dirk Vandereyken. It is published by Blackwyrm Books. In a small village, a necromancer stands trial. At the center of the universe, the Spider that wove All watches intently. Webs are spun in the courtroom, of magic, of lies, and of scandal. The mage Baour argues that he supercedes not only man’s laws, but god’s! What he truly wants may only be uncovered through testimony. As strange magics meet strange deaths, can the reality be unmasked? And should it? This product is available in the Non-Hero Products portion of the Hero Store.

A modern classic from Gorilla Games. Battlestations is a simultaneous ship-to-ship combat and boarding action board game with light role-playing. You and your friends each play the role of a crew member on a starship that faces whatever grief the referee throws at you. You blast enemies, pull outrageous maneuvers, unlock the secrets of alien cultures, and crank the last bit of juice out of an overtaxed engine while trying not to get yourself, your crew, or your starship blown to bits in the process. Battlestations is available from the store here under Non-HERO Products.

I have just recently completed uploading the entire line of Crunch Waffle Enterprises miniatures into the store. There are 47 of them, and they can be accessed by typing “miniature” into the store’s Title Search. Crunch Waffle is an independently owned and operated manufacturer of quality pewter miniatures. As those of you who are fans of painting such things know, it is incredibly difficult for smaller outfits to get their products into distribution, and thus into your FLGS. You probably won’t see these fine products anywhere else. Crunch Waffle offers a fabulously eclectic range of miniatures, including legendary cyrptozoology animals like the Jersey Devil and Feej…

I recently purchased a third party product listed as a Heroed 6th Edition product. However, the product clearly was using in it some, if not all, of the 5th edition rules (hexes of movement, aids and drains that dwindle slower than 5pt/turn costing less than +1, explosive seemingly separate from AoE). This isn't particularly detrimental to me, as I bought it for campaign ideas, not pre-built powers and vehicles, but it seems like a pretty glaring inaccuracy (giving the benefit of the doubt). Are the material in the website store vetted by anyone associated with Hero games? Thanks!
