Old Man
Kevin's Watch-- I really hated Thomas Covenant, but I could sure use some hurtloam. Minas Tirith-- Because the description in LotR confused me. I know there's been plenty of art and even a movie or two, but I'd still like to visit the real thing. Tanelorn-- Who doesn't need a safe haven? I'm sure I've missed a couple. Thoughts?
Steve Long
Re: Fantasy locations that should be real The Magicians' Fair in Lin Carter's "The Seal of Zaon Sathla" -- because who doesn't want to go to a magic items flea market? Lankhmar -- just avoid the alleys. Many, many places in Middle-earth, including Minas Tirith. Gwynnedd, from Katherine Kurtz's Deryni novels, esp. the city of Rhemuth. Cair Paravel and a number of other places in Narnia. Kaiin and a number of other places in Jack Vance's Dying Earth. The Forest of Tantrevalles and many other places in Jack Vance's Lyonesse. Lawnmower Boy
Re: Fantasy locations that should be real Pellucidar. Also that place in France where the naked ladies dance. If you look closely, you may be able to find one of those places right in your town. Anyway, here. If for no other reason than to take in the view. Markdoc
Re: Fantasy locations that should be real Reminds me of a favourite quote from a comic, on encountering what our heroes at first take to be the flying Dutchman: "See? There's nothing supernatural about it at all! It's a perfectly ordinary wrecked ship on top of a perfectly ordinary sea-monster!" cheers, Mark
