I know I slept well past noon for the first three or four days once my finals were over, every single quarter as a student. You budget your hours in crunch time planning on being able to make up the short-term deficit in the coming free days. Having some anal-retentive Must-Yank-The-Underlings'-Chains micromanagement-style mom not give you credit for being able to budget your own time and energy ... well, it makes sense if the mom is aspiring to create a Norman Bates, but that's all it makes sense for.
