Funny Pics II: The Revenge

Recommended Posts

I didn't love the Green Lantern movie, but did like it, to the point that I bought it on DVD (at a significant sale price, mind). I'm particularly fond of how the power ring constructs were presented.

Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm, were to me the strongest parts of their FF movies. They inhabited the personalities of the comic-book characters very effectively, and their relationship was note-perfect.

I liked the FF in that movie, I thought they were all really good, problem was, as usual, the powers that be REFUSE to do a correct Dr. Doom but then want to use him as an enemy. The later one with the 4 kids wasn't bad portrayals of the FF (except the Ben as a army weapon) but again, instead of using Annihulus OR Blastaar as the villain from the Negative Zone, instead you got another bad Dr. Doom. Funny thing, they could have even used the teenage/rival of Reed messing with the experiment, being kicked out and nobody catching it in time, Victor. Both bad versions of Doom ruined the movies.

British actors would be a straw man as the argument was about Australian actor Julian McMahon qua bad acting with two Hollywood roles.

As one of them was Doom I referenced other prominent Aussies in superhero roles. Ledger was a bit of an oversight, as the role was a while ago, and I don’t care too much for the film.

And Russell Crowe is a Kiwi.
