You can't keep the beam on your hand (which you can more or less forever with the little red ones); it's painfully hot. And you can see the beam in the dark for at least tens of meters. The documentation that came with it is literally an off-size 3-by-5 card, and there's a half dozen checkboxes indicating power levels (ranging from a low of 1000mW to a high of 50000mW) none of which are checked. You’ll want to wear eye protection with any laser in the watt range of course—it only takes one reflective surface to disable your remaining eye. Yes ... this package seems to violate just about every rule in the list I found. Though the rules are against shipping or selling it, not possession of one, AFAICT. That will require deeper study. It's not OM's fault that police are something on the order of eleven times more likely to shoot a young black man in "gang attire" than a similarly dressed white youth. Honestly, I think this is best adreesed by shooting anyone with their belts cinched around their knees or walking into a public place with a hood pulled over their faces, but that's probably not popular either.
