Agents of the Pentarchy - They're superpowered operatives of a cabal of wizards/godlings, making sure things in the Multiverse turn out the right way. That is to say, the Pentarchy's way.

 

Ingenue (Amanda) - Abused suburban housewife who decided she just wasn't going to take it any more. Mentalist.

 

Desperado (Brian) - Spoiled, self-centered, French-Canadian professional skier whose attitudes were turned around by a date with a demon. Speedster with a BFG.

 

Jack - Former actor who developed shape-shifting powers.

 

Keandriel - Fallen angel who's trying to work his way back into a state of grace. Cosmic pool.

The World Watchers: The premiere superhero group in my altered Champions Universe.

Deuce: The leader of the group. He is James Bond. In 1966, he drove his DB-5 into a high-energy experiment in West Germany. The next moment he was driving his Aston Martin in 2005, in Pheonix,AR near another high-energy experiment. Wears full black body armor. Uses super-gadgets.

Metal Master: A filthy rich genius who got his powers from strange liquid inside a meteorite. Has alien metal skin. Can sense and manipulate metal, and transmute metal to any other metal. 2nd in command.

Sparkler: A tough and quick mutant energy projector. Smoking hot black woman.

The Brick: A 4' tall 400lb mutant with brick red skin. VERY tough and strong.

Day: A female Predator-Style alien with mental powers and alien armor and weaponry. Tends to stay invisible in public.

Righteous Fury: A demon, who is on the path to redemption. Worked as a bounty hunter before joining the group. Used to be known as The Unmerciful.

Victory Celeste: Formerly, the familiar of an evil Sorcerer. She is an animate and sentient Victorian doll. She has several magical foci and a magic spell VPP.

Mama Moxie: A Transexual who has been genetically altered, and can now phase through solid matter. Also has several vibration-based powers and instant change into any outfit. Moxie is VERY flamboyant!

Team: The Millennium Foundation: Currently the pre-eminent superteam, based out of Century City, the home city of the world's first superhero team, the Centurions. The team current skews quite young, due to historical happenstance. Current members include:

 

*Guardian: Formerly known as Banshee. The son of Dr. Quantum and Songbird, the two most beloved members of the Centurions, who gave their lives to save the world. Guardian, as Banshee, founded the MF, and it is for that reason, as well as their operating out of Century City, that they are seen as the next generation of the Centurions (despite there also having been a crass, commercially-packaged team calling itself the "New Centurions"). Only 18.

*Arc: Teenager with magnetic and electrical powers.

*Marva the Magnificient: Twenty year old daughter of the Centurion's resident magician, Marvo the Magnificent. Weilds her father's magical hat and wand.

*In-Line: Perky and upbeat teenage girl skating enthusiast with prodigious gravity powers. Currently trying to revive roller disco after an encounter with the Muse of Disco.

*Iris: Former sidekick to Mr. Mercury III and then his sister, Ms. Mercury. Ex-juvenile delinquent.

*Aegis: Adopted son of The Great and Powerful Panda, tragically deceased member of the tragically deceased superteam The League of Decency. Martial artist. Goes to the same high school as Arc.

*Ms. Mercury, retired from heroing (her relics returned to Olympus)

*Cat, moved across the galaxy with her girlfriend to represent Earth in the Galactic Parliament

*Titania, moved across the galaxy with Cat to study alien technology

*Dr. Midnite, retired from heroing after being injured. His Cloak of Nyx was later co-opted by Nocturna for use in her evil plans.

*Myst, deceased. Went insane and became the villainess Nocturna.

*Sen Baraka, no longer on Earth. His powers mutated to cosmic levels and he became a galaxy-hopping guardian of order and justice. His librarian wife lives with him on the same planet as Cat and Titania where she is teaching aliens the Dewey Decimal System.

*Xiang, deceased. Passed on his powers as The Xiang to Aegis. Before he became one with the universe, he witness Aegis break the staff of the Xiang, thus ending the endless cycle of ever-increasingly destructive battles with his arch-rival and essential opposite, The Xing.

Agents of the Pentarchy

 

As a note, this game was immensly fun (I played Amanda). The GM started us off at normals, then kicked us up to 150 pt agents with powers, then 250 supers, then 375 supers (all under 4th ed rules). Each jump came longer than the last, but at least one major multipart adventure was done with each level.

Nothing like playing a housewife with a bit of auravision, and no other real powers, and not many skills, being chased by demons, to give you a big thrill. Especially when a year or so later she is a really powerful telepath (80 pt telepathy pool IIRC).

The Flame (energy projector) Founder member and person who named the team. Got powers from a chemicals spilled on him and ignited between a Viper and Cobra firefight.

The Ranger. [dead] A Ranger from medieval times with a very nasty sword. Founder member

Arachneida. Spiderman as a girl basically. Lost powers, reinvented as a detective and outfitted by the Magician.

Boa. Daughter of a Cobra aligned villain. Semi-retired.

Wolverine [Dead] Like the Marvel Wolverine without the restraint.

The Voidwalker. [Missing] The team's Thor. Mostly energy based attacks and able to inflict the terror of the void. An alien who lives between the stars.

 

Energiser. [Jailed] Energy projector with a forcefield of some great strength. Eventually brainwashed and turned to evil by the ITF (what Viper became).

The Magician [Dead] Mystic and inventor. Mentor to the Demoness. Killed by an assassin.

The Unicorn [Dead] Alien brick. Fell to death from a tower block while hunting the Magician's killer. The team view the death as suspicious.

Thaw. Supposedly the bodyguard of George Pappademetriou the Protectors backer. However think Iron Man.

Justice Machine. [Dead] Wizard from medieval times.

The Avenger. [Exiled] Just a normal man. Murdered the Cobra and was convicted of manslughter. Spent time on the run from the team beforehand. On attempting to return to the team fought and was defeated by the Flame causing a schism.

Boulder. [Dead] Brick. Victim of genetic experiments as a child that left him at the mercy of a drug. Left his adopted family the Tribe who were also similarly addicted to join the Protectors. Joined Crimebusters group following the schism. Killed by the Criminal Empire.

Nymphette [Dead] Highly attractive female who also joined the team once Boulder joined. Similar to Lorelei from Strike Force. Killed by Criminal Empire in same fight that Boulder died.

Owlgirl 2 [active] Brick. Another protector from a different future/other dimension. Altered the future and is now stranded in the past. Joined Crimebuster during the schism but returned to the Protectors following the casualties and Crimebuster's decision to go solo.

Gauntlet - noble brick, inheritor of a magical medieval gauntlet of power

Void - crashed-to-Earth future / transdimensional astronaut with a bad case of amnesia and darkness / gravitic / singularity powers

Mr Midnight - psionic / psychic vampire, wealthy horror fiction writer, psychologist, detective and all-round Victorian gentleman

Hunter - world-class martial-arts expert, retired LAPD SWAT team member turned bounty hunter
