Hawksmoor
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I just finished up putting my little rinky dink townhome on contract today. I spent about $3000 dollars in two weeks on repairs and painting and all that stuff to get it to the point I could sell it quickly. now the hard part comes. Finding a nice AND affordable home in overpriced Maryland where I won't have to drive 2 hours each way to and from work. Hawksmoor
Vanguard00
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Tonight I've mentioned my girlfriend three times in various contexts. My girl's pretty cool, and here it is 11pm and I kinda want to call her and tell her so, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow. But yeah, she's pretty cool. Just thought I'd share. death tribble
Re: A Thread for Random Musings In reply to Agent X who left a message in my rep box, yes I don't have PM but can be e-mailed and my e-mail contact can reply. However I don't agree with your opinion on this. I read the original thread and feel that Seenar was wrong and set out to cause a fight in the post that directly preceeded Rachel's outburst. If it was an 'honest mistake' why did he not go back to take the offending phrase out and apologise ? He is perfectly aware that there are people who post here in same sex relationships. To post as he did and then not correct it seems like declaration of intent on his part. After studying previous threads started by him it seems to me that he often does want to start a fight with people. The subject matter is usually contentious and/or political which usually draws strong opinions. For you to play Devil's Advocate when he was in the wrong does you no credit regardless of any disagreements you and Worldmaker have. And to post as you did in the apology thread that Rachel started only seemed to make things more divisive. People were not colluding with each other although we had independently reached the same conclusion. That Seenar owed Rachel an apology and did not give it for whatever reason. zornwil
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Well, I am still quite happy with the new campaign though the first session couldn't contain the entire scenario, partly because we started fairly late (first game of a campaign, so characters were being built past-post-time) and partly because I didn't realize they wouldn't hit on one particular investigative point more immediately, although it was a lot more fun the way they did it, as usual. Anyway, I'm really happy in general to GM something different and amazingly enough this is the first low-points game I've run. Looking forward to rotating more settings in general, and also now getting a fresh look at my regular superhero campaign, will build some brand new characters and gussy up the next big story arc. I always preferred welcome lunches, but I realize those are incredibly rare. And the one place where they happened, it was myself and one other manager that did them. Klytus
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I appear to have finally gotten White Heat's computer fixed! I had to DL some drivers for her modem and sound card from my PC, and then the modem was making stange sounds while it was connected, but I found a "fix" for that. It is late, but her system is presently DLing SP4 for Win2K, and I want to make sure it finishes and installs properly. Then I need to make sure her NIC card and wireless keyboard & mouse still function. I also found a way to do it without getting medieval on the desks
Rachel
Re: A Thread for Random Musings It just struck me tonight, for some odd reason, the responsibility and pressure of being the one player in a solo PBEM campaign. Weird.
Guest Worldmaker
Re: A Thread for Random Musings For the first time in my life, I played Halo this evening. For five and a half hours. Guest Worldmaker
Re: A Thread for Random Musings In re: the Book Burning thread: This thread was reported to me. And so I'm closing it. If you guys don't want your threads closed from now on, here are twothings you can do... 1 - Don't say anything to get the thread reported 2 - Don't report the thread I'm not longer going to spend hours looking through reported threads to determine whether or not they should be closed. I'm just going to close them. What a completely and totally idiotic policy. Don't actually check to see if anyone is doing anything wrong, or if the person who reported it might have some sort of ulterior motive for reporting the thread, or might possibly be reacting negatively to nothing whatsoever... just shut the damn thing down. Yeah, that's intelligent. Let's do that.
Guest Worldmaker
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Wait... on second thought, this is a great policy. Now I can put an end to all those stupid threads about nothing... or any thread in which the conservatives seem to have the upper hand. Or anything else where they are discussing something I don't like! Yeah! This is great! Thanks, Ben! BoneDaddy

Tim
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Picked up the first season of Wonder Woman of DVD. Thrakazog
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Finally having registered over at RPG.net, I decided to spend a day over there and see what they were like. I find that the HERO forum participants are more evenly spread over the political spectrum, with solid intellects representing both left and right. RPG.net is far more heavily populated by those on the left and extreme left, particularly foreign leftists, and they hold an overwhelming numbers advantage over those representing the right. The right-wingers, however, are far better at debate and articulating their viewpoint, in general with exceptions. The troll rates and use of vulgarity are also much higher there. lemming
James Gillen
Re: A Thread for Random Musings OK, so last night after running Fantasy HERO, I drive 15 miles into BFE to drive Gary home. Then trying to go on US 95 south, the Highway Patrol has put this giant roadblock up. I had to go all the way around to Rancho to get back on the freeway. I had some time to kill before I needed to cash my paycheck, so I figured I'd spend my last $20 on a local restaraunt on Flamingo and Sandhill. I get there, and construction workers have cut that area off and shut down the whole block. I go down the street to Boulder Station casino to cash my check and they've got part of the casino floor cut off for renovation so I have to walk all the way through the blackjack pit just to get to the casino cage. Jeez. In Las Vegas I can't even go INDOORS without having to move around construction crews. JG
BlackSword
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Is it just me, or are car brake lights and turn signals getting dimmer. Today is the second time in as many days I couldn't figure out what the person in front of me was doing because their lights were so dim that in daylight I couldn't tell they were braking and it wasn't until I was on their bumper that I could make out the turn signal flashing. Maybe I just need to get my eyes checked.
