Pariah
My school is doing a Spirit Week this week. Today's topic is "Wizards vs. Jedi". So, which do you prefer?

Pariah
My school's SBOs don't understand that. Just go with it.
Lord Liaden
Jedi carry too much restrictive baggage. There are so many different types of "wizard" precedents, you can define yours pretty much how you want. So, wizards for me. Cancer
If they trusted me with a lightsaber, the only thing I'd do is earn the nickname "Stumpy" very quickly. But I'm more into book-learning anyway, and wizards are all over that.
Hermit
Jedi are constrained, self repressing, and hierarchy bound. While some wizards also fit that category, they seem far more diverse overall in both external behavior and internal beliefs. Lightsabers are cool, but come only in about a few basic forms and colors. Compared to the many bits bobs and things wizards carry that might be objects of power a glowstick and a pew blaster start to all look a bit too much alike. Heck, Wizards are even allowed to dress in snappier material! A wizard might indeed be a bearded old man in a plain dark robe , but he might also be a younger looking lad sporting some serious pirate gear! He might go full on Edwardian. So be your wizard Harry Potter or Gandalf, Harry Dresden or Dr. Strange- Wizards just have it all over Jedi when it comes to reaching for things man was not meant to know, and still being more yourself. Starlord
Also, wizards are never late, nor early. They arrive precisely when they mean to. Lawnmower Boy and TheNaga 1

Cassandra
We can blame Mark Hamill for the lack of interest in Jedi. Pariah
Michael Hopcroft
Jedi live in what can charitably described as a ****sack galaxy. Dictators are continually hunting them down, and it wasn't really much better when the Jedi were in charge themselves. Jedi are more pirests than wizards given the strictures they live under. It isn't that smart to gobble up all the children with the right kind of DNA to be powerful force users, and then prohibit them from reproducing when they grow up. Wizard all the way. TheNaga
I choose wizard because wizards can use water- and cold-based magic which I like a lot while Jedi can not. I see Jedi as psychics and force powers as psionic powers. As a wizard, I think I could imitate most or all force powers through spells. Actually, Yoda should always have a human with him, and then they can play the magician & familiar game, possibly alternating roles to confuse onlookers. Confusing onlookers is historically an important wizard thing.
