  1. True enough.I wonder what sort of ECM gear Douglas Q. Sangnoir has on his jet cycle?
  2. Agreed. And,John Wyndham to the contrary,I think it's highly unlikely that human civilization would survive the decimation of the world's population.Especially if the false Destroyer's plot had suceeded.
  3. Personally, just because we can't understand Doctor Destroyer's actions doesn't mean that we can't deplore them. And just because someone is superintelligent doesn't mean that they're not insane.Veight's plan was basically a ripoff of the Outer Limit's The Architects Of Fear. This is the plan of a supergenius?
  4. Personally,I wouldn't trust Destroyer as far as I could throw him. There's got to be a reason why Menton became one of his many enemies, after all...
  5. I don't.But then I haven't seen many Italian films.....
  6. It's certainly true that FREd is far better bound than the BBB,but I have to point out that Champions:New MIllenium had an even worse binding than the BBB,as my copy of that book is in a far worse state than my copy of the 1st Edition of the BBB.
  7. for those who didn't read the last Captain Britain miniseries (which I read some months ago,so I may not have all ther details right) .... It began with most of the Captain Britain Corps being slaughtered by some mechanical monstrosities, apparently led by an insane Roma.A then-powerless Brian Braddock led a group of allies, including his wife Meggan,to Otherworld in order to stop "Roma" from conquering the entire multiverse by using the Amulet of Right & the SWord of Might together.Brian managed to defeat & recruit the sword's defender & encountered another sentient computer using a hologram of his dead father who gave him some vital info and restored his powers & costume.Despite their best efforts,Brian & his friends & wife were defeated by the true villain-the solid-light hologram of the Mastermind computer, who was revealed to have been suffering from a variant of Ultron Syndrome. Fortunately,as Mastermind was unworthy to wield the Sword's power,it destroyed him.Brian became the Monarch of Otherworld soon after.
  8. Has anyone mentioned the classic Quatermass tv series? If Quatermass isn't a gadgeteer who is?
  9. With Chuck Austen writing Avengers? Based on his work on X-Men,I'd have to say that was a high probability....
  10. If an Aid is bought with the Trigger Advantage (say an Aid triggered by sunlight) would the Aid take up points in a VPP or Multipower the phase after it was activated?
  11. Agreed-how does Wolvernine dare to call himself "the best at what he does" when so many of his victims are still alive?
  12. Oh,by the way, does Sharper than A Serpent's Tooth" have King Cobra's origin story (redone for 5th edition,of course)? (Two posts to go.....)
  13. The key word being "available".Most of the gaming shops in Auckland seem to sell nothing more than D20 junk. (Three posts to go....)
  14. Ttrue enough-and they had to state later on in his own comuc that when Captain America magically reaasembled his shield he left an atom or two out of alignment, which meant that every hit on the shield weakened it,to the point were it became fragile as glass,as it shattered just after James Rhodes recovered it.Worse yet,the released energy spread around the globe, detonating any vibranium it touched. The whole story arc culminated in a temporairily boosted Klaw sonic blasting Captain America & the shield in such a way that the shield was restored.Sheesh.. Still,it was great to see the Sentinel Of Liberty wallop Klaw with his restored shield.
  15. Here's another alien Archetype- Artificial Species: This race has either been built from scratch or has been changed into a new species by another race (or in some circumstances,by the "parent" race). For convienience I have named the two subtypes "Constructs" (for created species) and "Uplifts" for the transformed species. Constructs:Cylons(from Battlestar Galactica ,Mechanoids & Movellans (from Doctor Who 0. Uplifts: Cybermen,Daleks, & Time Lords (There's enough evidence in Doctor Who continuity to imply that Time Lords are an artificially created subspecies of Gallifreyan).
  16. Sheesh,BadTodd,it looks like you've got an Oculon clone in your campaign.Perhaps the player's new nickname should be "Oculon" - he certainly acts like that old Champions villain.
  17. I remember, during the Mutant Massacre,Colossus collapsed.Magneto (who was in "reformed" mode) used his powers to determine that Colossus had actually been mortally wounded by Riptide's bone shuriken.Instead of bleeding, his life energy was actually draining out of his wounds.Magneto had to magnetically repair Colossus, who ended up totally paralysed for some months. (It is worth noting that no-one realised anything was wrong with Peter until he collapsed,so bleeding energy instead of blood is just a special effect for Colossus).
  18. everybody seems to have better ideas than me.I just thought of this player encounter the Blind Dead. Essentially these are zombified Templars who really were devil-worshippers,and thanks to their unho;y pact, rise from the dead as vampiric zombies! Having been blinded before they were put to death they now locate their victims by sound, which makes them immune to flashes that affect vision.
  19. Because that means that Elves are Fantasy Vulcans & Drow are Fantasy Romulans!
  20. Wouldn't it be thematically appropriate to have a vampire as part of the Graveyard Shift?
  21. Not really-and I don't approve of such spam tactics.Any spam is too much,imho.
  22. Actually,Quasar used the eyeglasses disguise bit in his own comic.
  23. Actually, that was a poor example.Sure you save 10 points, but the character has NO END-i.e. has to burn STUN to perform most actions.Base figured stats of ED 12,REC 14 & 45 STUN would be useful, though.
