  2. Re: 10 US Military Aircraft That Never Quite Made It I've always had a soft spot for the Republic XF-91 Thunderceptor. Jet engines and rocket boosters FTW!
  3. Re: Help Me Populate A Creepy Island The Retired Adventurer Frequently found hanging out in one of the local bars. He seems to know a great deal about the PCs, but second hand. (If pressed on it, he claims to be friends with the PC's mentor.) He loves telling stories about his past adventures. If the PCs pay close attention, they will realize he is giving them clues about their current adversaries.
  4. Re: STAR HERO Reading List The best Niven anthology is probably All the Myriad Ways. Many of his most famous short stories and essays are in it.

  7. Re: Cool Guns for your Games Cool. I would have put the ammo counter somewhere where the shooter could see it without moving his head or the weapon, though.
  8. Re: Build a Pleasure Planet
  9. Re: Search fu weak help find thread on how good is Marine The basic package isn't too bad (24 points), but the Special Forces packages seem more cinematic than realistic.
  10. Re: Help Me Populate A Creepy Island The Dealer If you want drugs, you buy them from him. His stuff is high quality and potent, so be careful not to get hooked. Rumor has it that he has a plantation on one of the outer islands, worked by junkie slaves or even zombies.
  11. Re: Search fu weak help find thread on how good is Marine I don't know where this was discussed on the boards, but Dark Champions had a bunch of military Package Deals/Templates.
  12. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares How many can we get?
  13. Re: 5th Editon compatibility or conversion There is remarkably little effort to convert 5e (or even 1e) to 6e Hero. You'll need to adjust the point costs of any Templates, and there may be powers where there is a more straightforward way to build it under 6e. It should be fairly straightforward, though.
  14. Re: Some newbie rules questions Ah, I think I see the problem now. The, "effective height" of the triangle you are forming is twice its actual height. The formula would be a^2 + 4*(b^2) = c^2. As an example, traveling 3m horizontally and 2m vertically would require 5m of flight.
  15. Re: Some newbie rules questions Time to dust off the Pythagorean Theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2 "a" is the horizontal distance between characters. "b" is the vertical distance between characters. "c" is the actual distance between characters.
  16. Re: "Encounter" Powers They have a sentence or two of flavor text. I don't think that's changed much over the years, though.
  17. Can the Mass Limitation be taken on a focus that does not provide Defense? (Logically, it should be allowed, but there aren't any rules for it.)
  18. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The 5,000 Fingers of Mr. T
  19. Re: Rapid Clotting Why not build it as a Limited version of Does Not Bleed?
  20. Re: Bygone Champions - Early Editions
  21. Re: "Encounter" Powers I think that's an inherent part of Recoverable Charges. The examples listed (recovering arrows, sweeping up dust, etc) all would take some out-of-combat time.
  22. Re: "Encounter" Powers Recoverable charges works perfectly. It also handles the clerical spells that can be used 2 times per encounter.
