  3. Re: Self Defense Course UMA suggested using Commando Training as the basis for many self-defense martial arts.
  4. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Some say that he's really a laboratory mouse... who's trying to take over the world. *shrugs* All we know is, he's The Stig!
  5. Re: Senseless Thread I know characters where having their common sense flashed would have no effect whatsoever.
  6. Would a Characteristic be a legitimate defense against an AVAD Power (for example, the target's CON acting as a defense against a disease or poison)? (Presumably, a Characteristic would be a Very Common defense.) In a similar vein, would it be legal to have a Power (or set of Powers) with a given FX act as a defense against an AVAD attack that is not all-or-nothing (as an example, consider a necromantic bolt that is lessened by divine power (holy FX spells))? Can an AVAD attack go against one of two (or more) defenses? (Presumably, always going against the higher would be limiting, and the lower would be advantageous.)
  7. Re: New advantage idea: Permanent 100 years should cover it. It's +1 to bring the increment to 1 Minute, and +1/4 for each of the 12 levels to bring it to the century mark, for a total of +4. If you think that making the interval a full year will be enough, it's still +3.
  8. Re: Whirlwind attack? This is how I modeled it as a generic fighting trick. I chose the damage based on the most powerful weapon in the campaign. Sweep Attack: Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 2 1/2d6 (3d6+1 w/STR), Area Of Effect (2m Radius; +1/4), Selective (+1/4) (60 Active Points); OAF (any weapon; -1), Damage limited by weapon (-1/4), Reach limited by weapon (-0)

  10. Re: I love me some xenomorphs! And a side order of deep-fried bastard with bastard shavings on top.
  11. Re: Lingering You're right. I'd forgotten to check there.
  12. Re: Lingering No. I expect it will reappear in Fantasy Hero for 6e.
  13. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares In the Old West, a gambler and a skier form a partnership in, McCabe & Bode Miller
  14. Re: Looking for some help on a concept I'm not seeing the problem. Damage Negation works against AVAD attacks, so it seems ideal for this style of defense. The SFX is that the character, dodging at the last instant, got all (or mostly) out of the path of the beam. Also remember that Damage Negation reduces Damage Classes, not dice. Don't reduce attacks more than is warranted.
  15. Re: Impact of Figured Characteristics I've done it*. It wasn't trivial, but it was straightforward (if tedious). You should use a text editor that can handle XML, which will help keep track of the tags. *OK, I've done something much like it. During the 6e design discussions, I created a custom template that used an alternate method for creating figured characteristics.
  16. Re: Firearms template I suppose you could also model firearms with Blast if you wanted to avoid lethality, but "blasters" were inappropriate.
  17. Re: CHAMPIONS POWERS: What Do *You* Want To See? It would be cool to see super Talents - little bits that show up often but don't necessarily relate to a particular archetype. Instant Change would be an example (I know it's written up as a sample power in 6e).
  18. Re: Populating and fleshing out Saltmarsh That would be a Catherine Wheel.
  19. Re: Order of the Stick My mind must not be as deeply in the gutter as I thought. I thought they were making an MMO reference.
