  1. Re: Puppeteering Another way to model this would be with Mind Control, Alternate Combat Value (DCV), Based on STR (from the Advanced Players Guide).
  2. Re: Bartering & Trade Great, now I've got this mental image of a currency based on dudes' things.
  3. Re: FANTASY HERO Sneak Peek #1: The Cover!
  4. Re: FANTASY HERO Sneak Peek #1: The Cover! That cover is full of awesome.
  5. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore A recent episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives featured a burger... between two grilled cheese sandwiches (one with bacon, the other with jalepeno) and topped with a fried egg. There may have been slaw also, I can't remember.
  6. Re: Fantasy Hero 6th +/- Urban Fantasy? If it's like 5e, there will be a little bit on it but most of the book will be about more conventional fantasy.
  7. Re: Do you buy Resistant alternate defenses? Generally speaking, no. Most of the reason is that buying AVADs that are only stopped by Hardened Flash/Mental/Power Defense is widely considered to be a power-gaming tactic, and is rarely allowed by the GMs I play with. The other is that AVADs against exotic defenses are extremely expensive, and therefore low-power and rare. It's more effective to put points into more STUN/END/BODY or buy powers with the, "Difficult to Dispel" Advantage.
  8. Re: How would I do this? One way I've seen is to buy the maximum level of the power with the most difficult roll (usually 8-), and weaker levels of the power with easier rolls. When the player uses the power, he makes one roll, and uses the level of effect that it gives him. I agree with other posters this would slow the game down. ("I hit him, and I rolled an 11 on my Power roll. How much damage is that again?")
  9. Re: Help with Vigilante Project
  10. The structure in question cannot move under its own power, but can be transported using conventional cargo-handling equipment (like a shipping container). It takes several hours to set up or take down. Whatever facilities it has may not be used while in transit. If it is transported without being taken down, it is likely to sustain some damage. In theory, it could be moved during an adventure, but this is unlikely.
  11. Re: Recreational Drugs - Diseases and Poisons Maybe it will in 6e. It might also show up in the Equipment Guide.
  12. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Legend of the Drunken Game Master
  13. Re: Kill the Dude with the Thing It's the Dude! He's got the Thing! KILL HIM!
  14. Re: Magic Sword help 6E You could buy extra dice with the Limitation, "Only to increase maximum effect". I think that -1 would be an appropriate value.
  15. Re: Simulating Mental Illness...? You could use Enraged. The character might not become violent, but could engage in other inappropriate or dangerous behavior. (This is presented as an option in the 6e APG.)
  16. Re: We seem to be losing time... literally! Check the couch. Maybe it fell down between the cushions.
  17. Re: '70s TV Supers I caught it on video. It stank.
  18. Re: Special Effects Interactions: Burden on the defender or the attacker?
  19. Re: Battle of the Bands (6e) One of the almanacs had an article on a musician-themed campaign. All I remember from the article is that they introduced a new skill called, "Tight". It represented the ability to perform as a group, rather than individuals.
  20. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Aunt May, the Psychic Girl
  21. Re: Solo Adventure Combat System I think it's possible, but tricky. You'd have to place some restrictions on the PC's character build, preventing stop-sign powers that would break the adventure or otherwise restricting their use. Each NPC (or group of NPCs) would need explicit explanations of their combat tactics, what they know (in case of Telepathy), and how they would respond to Presence attacks. Player skill use would need to be codified (including which skills could not be used in a scene). It would be a lot of work, and I'm not sure it would be worth the effort.

  23. Re: Behold Leviathan: the sperm whale that killed other whales "We're gonna need a bigger boat."
  24. Re: District B13 Martial Art There are no official rules for it. I started a thread on it a few months ago.
