In a nutshell, there was a fairly recent (1998) discovery of some rock formations off of Yonaguni, Japan, and Okinawa. They look man-made, and some scientists have chimed in saying "Yup, man-made". Of course, an equal amount have said "No, just nature being cool again." All of that aside... Surely ya'll can do something with submerged pyramids.... http://www.crystalinks.com/bythesea.html http://www.lauralee.com/japan.htm http://www.unknowncountry.com/news/?id=540 http://www.morien-institute.org/yonaguni.html

Or for a pulp game set in that era. I found these links in the GURPS forums. Since there are a bunch of links to choose from, I'll just post a link to the thread here.

In the 80’s artist Mike Grell started a long running series for DC comics called The Warlord. They were the adventures of Air force pilot Travis Morgan who somehow finds himself transported to the subterranean world of Skartaris. The series had a very decent run and was one of the few truly successful Sword & Sorcery comics around. Using the mapping program in the AD&D core rules software, I recently completed my rendition of a map of the Hollow world of Skartaris that was originally published in the Warlord Annual #4 from 1985. I posted it on my Blog for those interested in checking it out the link is here. http://evildm.blogspot.com/ I’m currently wo…

From WIKI: Jack of All Trades was a half-hour long action/comedy television series which ran for two seasons in 2000. With Cleopatra 2525, it formed the "Back2Back Action Hour" and both shows were notable for being the first American non-animated action series to be produced in the half-hour format in a number of years. The program is set at the turn of the 19th Century on the fictional French-controlled island of Palau-Palau. Jack Stiles is an American secret agent sent by President Jefferson. While there he meets his British contact Emilia Rothschild. Together the two work to stop Napoleon and various other threats to the United States. To the public Jack is seen a…

There was a map of the Empire club in one of the old Hero books. I know I own it, but I can'tfind it. I am finally beginning a Pulp game and the first session is in two weeks. I have been putting together the fiendish villiany and was planning on the heroes operating out of the EC to save me a major map. But I realize in my panic I can't find it. Help!

Hi, My wife is playing a Pulp Heroine who is from India. We originally had armed the some Kukri and after researching it found that that is traditional weapon of the Gurkhas on India. No problem. Only thing is she doesn't want to Hindu but instead she wishes to be Sikh because she likes the religion and after reading about the religion I can see why. However she still wants to be this Kukri slinging avenger of evil. So my question is could it be possible for a Sikh woman to become a Gurkha? Or is that too much suspension of disbelief?

My gut reaction is "seal" but hey, in your Pulp game, you might spell that "dinosaur." EDIT: Having seen the rest of the pics, let me change that to... uhm... some sort of whale. Yes... beaked whale. EDIT 2: Common consesus is -- it's either a beluga or an orca. http://englishrussia.com/?p=251 (click on link to see many more pics. Mac uses, try using Firefox, not Safari.)

I am looking for a book that contains illustrations on how a skyscraper is laid out. It doesn't have to be super detailed, but I have never been able to poke around a real one. An overview of something along the line of the Empire State building or another building of the same period. How are stores, offices, residences distributed? The elevator banks? I am slowly getting better at mapping and when I map out the Empire Club and the PC's headquarters, I would like to make it a plausable layout. Thanks

Hey everyone....Does anyone have any good pointers to source pictures of what a "crackpot inventors lab" circa 1928-ish would look like ? I have some solid concepts and mapping the layout isn't an issue but I'd also like to have a "snapshot" to show players as they enter, just to add to my description.... Thanks in advance. -Carl-

I just got this book out of the library, and found it fascinating and very informative. The Golden Afe of the Great Passenger Airships; Graf Zappelin & Hindenburg by Harold G. Dick with Douglas H. Robinson. Note: you might find it filed under Graf Zeppelin & Hindenburg The primary author, Harold G. Dick, worked for Goodyear-Zeppelin, and was assigned to the Zeppelin company in Germany from 1934 through 1938 (though not continuously during those years). He had access to the entire "works" and was accepted by the officers and crews of the airships. He took many photos, diagrams, notes, etc., which are the basis for this book. The secondary author, Douglas …

I just discovered the existence of a document called the Voynich Manuscript. It's a small book, apparently written in the early 17th century, containing mysterious illustrations of plants, astrological drawings, and biological/chemical processes with large numbers of "nymphs". Accompanying the illustrations is text written in a script that has no apparent connection to any known alphabet or language. The document has defied all attempts at translation or decryption, and at determining the author. In short, this book is a blank slate, waiting to be whatever it needs to be for your campaign! Of all the exotic images that the West has ever projected onto Tibet, that of the Nazi expedition, and its search for the pure remnants of the Aryan race, remains the most bizarre. On the nineteenth of January, 1939, five members of the Waffen-SS, Heinrich Himmler's feared Nazi shock troops, passed through the ancient, arched gateway that led into the sacred city of Lhasa. Like many Europeans, they carried with them idealized and unrealistic views of Tibet, projecting, as Orville Schell remarks in his book Virtual Tibet, "a fabulous skein of fantasy around this distant, unknown land." The projections of the Nazi expedition, however, did not include the now familiar search…
