I am going to start regularly posting some real world vehicles I find interesting, starting with the Israeli Merkava MBT if anybody has any requests, I can do those too, if its something thats been used in another game etc... but is also a real vehicle... I will go with the real stats, and folks can bash together the differences as needed. I will be taking from various books I have here and what online public sources are available from now on I will also post a zip file with both the .hdc and the .txt versions

Religion Hero?? 1 2 3

IT seems like I have seen several RPG's over the past 2 years that were Role Playing with a religious theme. I am not sure that they were done very successfully as they flopped. I do, however, think there is a market for GOOD biblical RPG games...not necessarily placed in biblical times. Any thoughts??

Has anyone ever done a game in a Stone Age setting? Just seems like it could be an interesting genre if you fiddled with the world abit, perhaps adding shamanistic magic or whatnot.

more tinkering with vehicles one of my favorite Armored Car designs, and for the post apocalyptic folks, this is the the same vehicle that appears in the Morrow Project RPG, except this isnt fitted with the fusion power plant the MP vehicles are fitted with. just remove the fuel charges to simulate the MP vehicle My source is "The Encyclopedia of Tanks and Armored fighting vehicles" general editor Chris Foss

One of the advantages of going to an anime convention (besides the fact that you will see many more cute females there than at any other sort of convention) is that there are innumerable manga titles available, including some you wouldn't have thought to look for. One of the disadvantages (besides the fact that the scantily-clad cosplay girls are not on display specifically for you) is that there is rarely enough cash to buy everything you would want. However, I did pick up one new title being translated by Tokyopop that would, with work, make an interesting RPG premise. It's a new modern-fantasy comedy called Because I'M the Goddess!, and even if you don't want…

WW2 German Kettenkrad half tracked motorcycle used for hauling small guns, trailers, even towing aircraft on airfields, top speed of 38mph, neat little vehicle, there are still at least a few in running order, they had a driver and 2 passengers, and were unarmed except for the infantry weapons http://www.kettenkrad.de/index_e.htm I think some of hte space ork vehicles from Warhammer 40K used these for inspiration

award winning SF Author, fandom guru, editor, projectionist, among a lot of things, passed away friday at age 92 He wrote over 60 books and short stories, some of his best works dealt with time travel. http://www.sfwa.org/news/2006/wtucker.htm I got to meet him a few times, he used to live here in bloomington, heck of a nice guy, he was also well known for a tradition called "Smoothing" that I cant quite do justice to here, it involves a fifth of Jim Beam and a group toast He was the con chairman for the second Worldcon in 1940, so it actually even fits in the pulp era!

Anyone else thought about a campaign based on this SciFi channel series ? Given it's eclectic nature (US Marshals, Department of Defense, Weird Science, etc) I figured this was the best forum to ask.... Any existing threads regarding it ? Thanks. -Carl-

There are certain cliches you want to avoid when running a horror game. A lot of these are really tired tropes that Hollywood has used to death, and the bulk of your players will either not find them scary, or guess them right off the bat. Some of these include: 1.) Evil children. Children represent innocence, and frequently are used to induce horror by distorting the familiar. Unfortunately, the technique has become overdone, and now making the monster be a evil child of some sort has become way to obvious. 2.) Evil priests/reverends. Again, priests and reverends are usually thought to represent goodness, so inverting them is creepy. Making your bad guy a …

Every year at Halloween, I run a one-shot horror game where the players play themselves in some horrid event. Last year, it was run in the d20 system, and this year, it'll be in the Hero system. I just wrote myself up, and found to my dissappointment that I am built on 39 points. It should be a fun game. Has anyone else ever done this?

Every once in a while I get in a mood of what ifs history wise. Lately, I have been thinking on the Aaron Burr conspiracy. I was wondering how the US/New World would have changed if the conspiracy was successful. Whether the real parts of the conspiracy or (since this is an rpg discussion site after all) the rumors built in with the conspiracy was successful. (as in Burr wanted to set up his own Empire in the West, I forget exactly) Although parts of history I am knowledgeable of. The first half of the 19th century is a bit of a weak spot for me. So I would definitely like to hear ideas.

Has this been done? If so, anyone got a linky? Courtly love, space opera love et al; I figure someone has wrote up a set of mechanics at some point. If not, I was thinking either some sort of 'Aid', 'Mind Link' or maybe even a simple Perk of 'Contact'?! What do you think?
