Looks like it's a prefab. they could have flown it in in parts by helicopter and assembled it there fairly easily. Must be a pain flying in heating oil and fuel for generators though. slikmar
I am sure there is an episode of Off The Grid that will have it in it. Some of the places they build are about that obscure and of course the people would have set some completely doable timeline like 6 weeks or something. I had rapidly outgrown the Children's section in several subjects. Some of my favorite books were related to cryptography, chess, and stage magic (an illustrated book that described Houdini's illusions was amazing). Cancer
I don't think anyone ever tried to restrict where I browsed in a library. Teachers and librarians would start me in different places, but after satisfying myself that I wasn't finding anything I wanted, I went where I wanted. There were little signs on the adult stacks that marked them as off limits to children, and I was apparently reported on a couple of occasions to the librarians for "being out of my section" by adult patrons. Cancer
Weird that Florida libraries in the 1970s were more repressive than the libraries at US military bases in the early 1960s.
Cygnia
My hometown library trusted me enough as a kid to go upstairs where the old periodicals where kept (they didn't have microfiche back then).

I know that one time I was reported, I was in the science section looking at books on evolution.
