  1. I'm going to speculate that you are white, male, heterosexual, cisgendered, nominally Christian, and have a reasonable job. (I apologize if I got any of that wrong.) You don't have to worry about being discriminated against because of your religion, ethnicity, or gender. You are well-fed, clothed, have a roof over your head, and have no more than a theoretical worry about how you're going to pay for these things. Of course things are going pretty well for you. Unfortunately, for people not like you, Trump is making everything worse.
  2. There's also an 8-foot deep trench across the road, which needs to be rebuilt. CO DOT probably doesn't have a boulder removal team on standby. They would need to either interrupt an existing project, or wait for labor and equipment to become available. Other projects may have a higher priority. There were two rocks. The photo with the guy standing in front is the smaller one.
  3. Undocumented immigrants are clearly subject to US laws. Therefore, their US-born children are US citizens.
  4. Adding. "Must Follow Block" to a Bind maneuver seems reasonable.
  5. I assume you mean, "the segment before the character's next Phase." That seems close enough to Extra Segment to be worth the same value (-1/2). If you want, "directly before my character's action in it's next Phase," that's a lot more complex (and probably should require an Advantage to get two Actions in one Phase, even if one of them is delayed from earlier).
  6. That doesn't do what I want, which is to have combat skill with weapons and combat skill with magic completely separate.
  7. I've fiddled around with repurposing MCV, and have been unsatisfied. It works OK, but it muddles magic and psionics. I do like the idea of a seperate characteristic (under 6e). Start it at 0 or 1 (so no selling back OACV for the sword-swingers), 3 points per. Spells will, obviously, default to OACV vs DACV. Should this be an advantage?
  8. Has anyone ever experimented with adding an Arcane Combat Value (aka, "spell hit") to their game?
  9. Your teleport power, by RAW, activates at DEX 28 in segment 3. The fact that it is a Full Phase action (as opposed to a Half Phase for a Half Move) is irrelevant. If your teleport was built with Extra Phase (as opposed to Full Phase), it would activate at DEX 28 in segment 6. Either way, you've used your action and can't Abort until segment 4.
  10. "...Within the same campaign" is the important bit here. My argument is that the character shouldn't have to pay more for usable Contacts just because the campaign is set world-wide, instead of being limited to NYC (for example).
  11. I like this line of thought. Usable Contacts shouldn't be more expensive just because the campaign covers a larger area.
  12. This is what happens when you mix decaf and espresso.
  13. It's unpleasant when management can't decide what the schedule for the next week is. "You're working 7-3 Saturday and 6-6 on Monday." "It's changed. You're on call Saturday and not working Monday." "It's changed again. You're on call Saturday but working 6-6 Monday." Mind you, there are good reasons for all of this, but it's still annoying.
  14. The 6e Equipment Guide would have SF weapons in it.
  15. It sounds like you are overthinking the mechanics of this power. Focus more on what the character is trying to accomplish, and less on the details of how he accomplishes it. For example, with the staff he can: Hit people - HTH Attack, with Reach Block attacks - +DCV Throw the staff and teleport to it - Teleportation Teleport the staff to himself The first three are straightforward. The last doesn't need to be a Power, but it does have mechanical effects. It rules out Focus (it can't be taken away), Physical Manifestation (too durable), and Only In Alternate Identity (leaving the staff somewhere will not keep the character from using it). I would write it up like this. Staff of the Other Dimension: Multipower, 54-point reserve Hit Things: (Total: 54 Active Cost, 43 Real Cost) Stretching 2m, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Usable By Other (Hand Off; +1/2), Grantor can take back power at any time (4 Active Points); Limited Body Parts (Staff; -1/4) (Real Cost: 3) plus Hand-To-Hand Attack +5d6, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Usable By Other (Hand Off; +1/2), Grantor can take back power at any time (50 Active Points); Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/4) (Real Cost: 40) Block: +5 DCV, Usable By Other (Hand Off; +1/2), Grantor can take back power at any time (37 Active Points) Throw-and-Port: Teleportation 30m (30 Active Points); Extra Time (Full Phase, Half a phase to throw the staff, half to port to it.; -1/2) Port-to-Staff: Teleportation 10m, Safe Blind Teleport (+1/4), MegaScale (1m = 1,000 km; +1 3/4) (30 Active Points); No Conscious Control (Only Effects cannot be controlled; The character can only port to the staff.; -1) I hope this helps.
  16. This is a very cool effect, but I suspect it might be unplayable. You would need to track which other characters could see the character, and that might change every phase. I suppose you could make a template of some sort. If another character can see this character without being blacked by the template, he's visible. if not, invisible.
  17. One idea that I've toyed with but never tried in a game is to build poisons as AVAD, where the defense is CON.
  18. A comparison to later editions of D&D might be useful. Their combat round is 6 seconds, so Hero's 12-second turn is 2 D&D rounds. This lets us draw some direct comparisons: SPD 2 = 1 attack/round SPD 3 = 3 attacks/2 rounds SPD 4 = 4 attacks/2 rounds So, novice (low-level) characters would be SPD 2, with their SPD increasing as they gain experience.
  19. SSA Disability and Medicare are not the same system. I don't think anyone is claiming they could find Medicare fraud by reading people's social media posts. In theory, you might see someone receiving disability payments posting about activities that their disability would seem to preclude. In practice, you're more likely to see posts about engaging in normal activities (on a good day), or complaining that they can't. (I have a number of FB friends with disabilities, so I'm familiar with the topic.)
  20. There is a recurring myth in some political circles that a large portion of the people that receive disability payments are, "faking it," so the government needs to monitor their activities and gather evidence of this.
  21. There's also the Warcraft elements: Fire/Water Light/Shadow Arcane/Nature
  22. Exactly. If it's just a base of operations between adventures, it doesn't matter that it's a mighty fortress with a large garrison. When the character is out adventuring, he doesn't have access to those resources and shouldn't need to pay points for them. If the character wants to bring a few bodyguards along, he only pays for those guards, not the whole garrison. Of course, this assumes a conventional heroic fantasy campaign. If you are playing more of a military wargame, the character will be using those resources and you'll need to build it with the base and follower rules.
