Guest George Kirby
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I spoke to her for the first time in several days last night and in speaking to her became convinced that she thinks I'm just going to lie down and not do anything whatsoever while she takes everything. She told me of how she spent all day yesterday in a lawyer's office filing for divorce, and how things are going to be with our property and our children. Reality is going to hit her in the middle of the forehead like a butcher's hammer. You see, I filed first, last week...
Cancer
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Yeesh. Counting an item on these boards, in the last three days I've heard of four non-anecdotal (that is, in-the-flesh "this happened to ME") cases of this ... When did PS: Credit Card Fraud become part of the qualifications for being a Manager at a McDonald's? Yeesh. Cash only for me (and preferably correct change, since one story involved denomination-of-bills switching); and I think I'll try to stay out of those joints altogether. Cancer
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I stink! Upon stumbling across RateMyProfessors.com, and looking myself up, I get a rating, albeit based on one respondent. "Hard exams but grades on a curve" is correct ... and the way it should be. (Given that I used to use "Dr. Satan" as my chat room handle, this probably should not be a surprise.)

I love the Daily Show Sure, they showed some segments with what I thought was a 'fringe' guy as well, but then, he wasn't invited to the panel. Bazza
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Today confirmed that I have totally lost the support of management. For a good ten minutes I explained the facts of the last two to three weeks and she did not accept my side of the story. I think I can remember her saying "no, no, no". I don't consider I got a fair hearing despite my discourse and therefore no (social) justice (1). Earlier this week I got a simular complaint brought against me by a whinging member of our "team". Todays experience just confirmed it. And another co-worker is a B!tch. I got to find another job pronto as I can't fully express my feeling with the "swear filter" kicking in. (1) I work for a religous sponsored community service/support charity. Dr. Anomaly
Cancer
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Headline in my local paper: Two plead guilty to smuggling aliens Turns out it's just boring illegals trying to get into the US. It'd be much more interesting if it were something closer to our collective hearts. For instance, to quote from The notebooks of Lazarus Long: On the planet Tranquille around KM849 (G-O) lives a little animal known as a "knafn." It is herbivorous and has no natural enemies and is easily approached and may be petted -- sort of a six-legged puppy with scales. Stroking it is very pleasant; it wiggles its pleasure and broadcasts euphoria in some band that humans can detect. It's worth the trip. Someday some bright boy will figure out how to record this broadcast, then some smart boy will see commercial angles -- and not long after that it will be regulated and taxed. In the meantime I have faked that name and catalog number; it is several thousand light-years off in another direction. Selfish of me-- Now that would be an alien worth smuggling! It's got fake movie trailers...They're not bad. The trailer for "The Man" with Eugene Leavy and Samuel L Jackson did have this gem. "This film is not yet funny." I like that. Enforcer84
Re: A Thread for Random Musings The Bush Family has been bad for the CU. I mean, George Senior is President when Dr. Destroyer Nukes Detroit, and now Jr. Is having his problems with a natural disaster near Vibora Ba-er New Orleans. I think if Jeb is elected, Hudson City will be wiped out in a nuclear blast.
