  3. Re: Blocking and relative strengths How about a house ruling that a Block requires the character to use their STR, and would cost END? (Probably only 1 END, since a 10 STR character can Block effectively.) You could then build a Block with the, "STR+" element (which costs no END) to reflect the Blocker not needing to use their own STR to Block.

  11. Re: Fantasy Hero with 6E Welcome aboard! Most of the 5e books should still be usable. The point values will be off, but converting shouldn't be too hard. Fantasy Hero for 6e is supposed to be the big GenCon release for 2010.

  13. There's been a lot of debate as to whether parkour and similar arts should be included in the upcoming HSMA. Since Steve Long has said they will probably not be, I have decided to try to break the discussion out on to its own thread. I have created a set of, "movement elements" that can be used on their own or in conjunction with martial arts elements to create new maneuvers. Movement maneuvers should probably not cost more than 2-3 points. Martial maneuvers with movement elements follow the normal rules for their construction. Movement Elements Skill Roll : 1 point Automatically makes an unmodified Agility skill roll. A character may apply Skill Levels. Take once. (any Agility Skill, Standard Effect (roll of 11), only for using this maneuver (-2)) Skill Bonus : 1 point Gives a +1 bonus to a defined Agility skill when using this maneuver. These are in addition to any other Skill Levels the character may apply. Take Many. (Skill level, only when performing this maneuver (-2)) Running : 1 point +2m Running when using this maneuver. Take twice*. (+2m Running, 0 END (+1/2), only when performing this maneuver (-2)) Leaping : 1 point +4m Leaping when using this maneuver. Take once*. (+4m Leaping, 0 END (+1/2), only when performing this maneuver (-2)) (*) Assumes heroic characteristic maxima. Other movement modes may be added at the GM's discretion, using similar constructs.
  14. Re: Dancing Weapon I would do a few things differently. First, I would not sell back the Running and then buy, "Flight, only near the ground". Floating in the air is just a special effect, in this case. Second, I would build it as an Automaton. Add, "Takes no STUN" and, "Cannot be Stunned". Since it's an Automaton, it's immune to Presence Attacks so it doesn't need extra PRE. (Of course, it also has no EGO so you can't sell it back. It's a wash.) Selling its INT back to 0 and adding a Computer is a possibility, but I'd have to think about it. I doubt it would have a full complement of senses. You could probably take PhysLims for, "No sense of smell/taste" and maybe Touch as well. I'm not sure why you gave it Concealment - can it hide itself? It will run out of END after about 3 turns of combat. I don't know if you want that or not.
