Re: New to Champions advice on what books to get needed please Champions (the superheroic genre book) and Hero System Martial Arts are both coming out in the next month or two. Fantasy Hero is scheduled to be released at GenCon this year. I think Star Hero (the science fiction genre book) will be updated for 6e, but no date has been announced. Steve has said that Pulp Hero will not be updated. As to what would be a good all-around cross-genre book... I'm not sure there is one. The Ultimate Skill would certainly be useful. The Ultimate Vehicle will be updated for 6e, but not for a while (maybe 2011). The Ultimate Base is already out. Don't worry too much about converting between editions. The mechanics haven't changed that much since the original Champions came out in 1981. Good luck!

Re: Was Tony Stark's player a bonehead? Assuming we're talking about the movie, the original power supply for the suit had been stolen and was being used by Iron Monger. Being unable to operate the suit at all without power is probably a Physical Complication.

You and three of your gamer buddies are sitting around the table (one per side). In the middle of the table are four dice. They are arranged in a square, rotated roughly 45° to the table. Now, which die is in front? "It depends. In front of who?" Exactly! "Front" is a relative frame of reference. Picture you and your buddies each having a world-line extending in front of them, and the dice represent events. Which event happens, "first" depends on which observer we are talking about. (This example is exaggerated, but I think the principle is sound.)
